Zva Creative July DT Blog Hop!

Zva Creative and our talented Design Team welcomes you to join us this month for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special!

We know that it's a busy time of year with kids home from school and vacations, so we thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize! Details below.

It's CHA time which means brand new products. So please keep an eye out for them at your local stores.

As you know, Zva offers so many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on FIVE of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts today, July 25th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, July 26th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, July 27th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

To increase your chances of winning:

  • Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)

  • Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)

  • Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products. If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry

Sooo, you have FOUR chances on each blog to win one of our FIVE prizes! That's technically over 50 chances.

For today's blog hop I made this elegant anniversary card. I used one of Zva's silk flowers as main focal point. I noticed that not everyone is familiar with the gorgeous flowers that Zva Creative carries, so I would like to highlight this product.

Don't you love the beauty of this silk flower?

The white pearl flourishes are one of my favorites as they are so easy to combine with many papers.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper, border sticker, chipboard element: Crate Paper (Portrait) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (2009 Anniversary Set Round & Round) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Dark Chocolate) | Silk flower, flourish, pearl, adhesive dots: Zva Creative (FL04CA128, PES03CA104, CR02CA127, AD01CB101) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Double-Ended Banners Die), We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper, sewing machine

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us, and have a wonderful day!

My Scrapbook Nook Creations & DT Call

Creating with this month's kit from My Scrapbook Nook is so much fun, because I love the 5 & Dime collection from October Afternoon. The birthday card is based on the weekly card sketch I designed for this week.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper, stickers: October Afternoon (5 & Dime) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Bash Sentiments) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Edgers #3 Die), sewing machine

I also made a little gift bag using a Favor It Box die from Papertrey Ink. The bags are quite small, but they are perfect to fill with some chocolates or other candies. The flowers and gorgeous 1/2" pearl brad are from Zva Creative.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (5 & Dime) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Tiny Tags) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Dark Chocolate), Adirondack (Pink Shell) | Ribbon: American Crafts | Twine: May Arts | Flowers, pearl brad: Zva Creative (FL01CB114, FL01CB110, BRBK02CA103) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Tiny Tags Die, Favor It Box #4),

My Scrapbook Nook is having a DT call. They are currently seeking some new designers to be a part of their creative team and share in the fun of their monthly kit club. You can find the details of the call here. If you're interested to apply to the call register yourself to the forum and send your application to Leah.

I'll be back on Monday with a card for Zva Creative's July Blog Hop. Have a wonderful weekend.

Celebrate

I can't get enough of October Afternoon's 5 & Dime collection from My Scrapbook Nook's July Kit. I just love the papers. Have you already seen the sneak peeks of the new October Afternoon collections? I can't wait to get my hands on all three collections. Today's card is based on sketch FTL149 from Clean & Simple Stamping. Last night I visited some of my favorite sketch challenge sites and when I came across the new sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping I immediately had an idea about my card. A perfect sketch to use my Papertrey Ink Boxy Banners die. I'm not too happy about the heavy inked edges. I refilled my ink pad, but it was still a bit too wet.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft, Sawdust) | Patterned paper, rubber charm: October Afternoon (5 & Dime) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Make a Wish) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Doily Details Collection, Small Scalloped Border Die, Boxy Banners Die), sewing machine

I also want to share a photo of some of the new colors of crinkled ribbon I added to my store Cards & Wishes.

18 New colors were added this weekend. You can find all colors here.

Happy Sunday!

Happy (99th) Birthday

Today my grandmother is celebrating her 99th birthday. 99! I can hardly imagine what it's like to be that age. She has some health issues, but still lives on her own. She does get help from home care, get meals provided and my parents help her by running errands and doing her laundry. My grandmother hasn't always had an easy life, but she's a strong woman. She doesn't feel like celebrating her birthday today, so I'll give her a call this morning. I also made her a birthday card. I had a bit of a hard time getting a good photo due to the bad weather. It's supposed to be summer, but it feels like fall. The dusty pink silk flower and soft pink flourish are from Zva Creative.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: Crate Paper (Emma's Shoppe) | Pearl flourish, silk flower, adhesive dots: Zva Creative (PE03CA111, FL04CA128, AD01CB101) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Basics) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Vintage Cream) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Edgers #3 Die, Double-Ended Banners Die), MFT Stamps (Die-namics Little Open Scallop Strip), sewing machine

Thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today my dear dad is celebrating his 71th birthday. The girls and I went to see my parents this afternoon. I've been so busy lately that I had no time earlier this week to create a card for my dad. I had planned to make one this morning, but I had to change plans due to an unexpected hospital visit. Fortunately it all turned out well, although I was a bit worried. Anyway, I sat down after lunch and made this card for my dad. I mixed papers from My Scrapbook Nook's July Kit with some Papertrey Ink goodies.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (5 & Dime) | Button: Papertrey Ink (True Black) | Twine: May Arts | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Label Basics, Just the Ticket, Banner Builder | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Bookmark Die, Seeing Stars Die Collection), Martha Stewart Zig Zag border punch, sewing machine | Other: sheet music

Have a great day!

Thank You Cards

I have been very busy since I last blogged more than a week ago. I've had no time to blog or to be creative this week. Work is very busy now that I'm the only secretary at work for a few weeks, and I'm quite tired when I get home. A few days ago I received the July kit from My Scrapbook Nook. This is my favorite kit since I've been on the DT. Why? Well.....it's filled with goodies from October Afternoon. It's no secret that I {heart} October Afternoon so this kit is totally up my alley.

For the first card I chose one of my favorite color combos.....red, cream and black. The black star print is one of my favorite patterned sheets from the 5 & Dime collection. I added a Zva Creative crystal flourish to the card. The flourish is a lot larger, but I used only one third of it. When I first used Zva Creative crystals I didn't want to cut them smaller, but now I often do it with the larger flourishes to make them fit on a card. The red felt flower comes from my store.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Raven) | Patterned paper, alphabet stickers: October Afternoon (5 & Dime) | Button: Buttons Galore & More | Twine: May Arts | Ribbon: local haberdashery | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Felt flower: Cards & Wishes | Flourish, adhesive dots: Zva Creative (CRB03CB116, AD01CB101) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection, Double-Ended Banners Die), MFT Stamps (Die-namics Mini Film Strip), sewing machine

The second card has a more softer color scheme and a simple design.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Straw) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (5 & Dime) | Button: Papertrey Ink (White & Cream Mix) | Twine: May Arts | Ribbon: American Crafts | Rub-ons: Melissa Frances | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Tools: MFT Stamps (Die-namics Open Bracket Border), sewing machine

And here's a collage of the July kit. October Afternoon 5 & Dime papers, shape stickers, rubber charms and mini market stickers, Maya Road canvas tags, American Crafts thickers and trim.

This past week I also did a lot of work for my store Cards & Wishes. I added new products and mini kits to my store. All kits sold out pretty quickly and as soon as I restocked them they sold out again. I added new mini kits in Vintage Brown and Vintage Black yesterday, but availability is limited. I now also have wooden embellishments such as spools and clothes pins.

Thank you for stopping by. Until next time.

Happy Summer

School's out for summer! My girls had their last day in school today, and are off for six weeks. As usual I wanted to make some gifts for their teachers, but I was way too late and had to do it all yesterday. Well....fortunately I had already one gift bag finished as I made this one some weeks ago for this month's guest post on the Scrapbooks Etc. blog. It's based on a sketch by Valerie Salmon and you can also find it here on the Got Sketch? blog. I used Pink Paislee's Hometown Summer collections which is one of my favorite collections at the moment. The gift bag was filled with chocolates.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Straw), Papertrey Ink (Stamper's Select White) | Patterned paper: Pink Paislee (Hometown Summer) | Button: Papertrey Ink (White & Cream Mix) | Ribbon, twine: May Arts | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Daily Designs Sentiments) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Felt flowers: Cards & Wishes | Foam dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Favor It Box 3, Banner Builder Collection, Eyelet Lace Border), MFT Stamps (Die-namics Open Scallop Border), sewing machine

And here's an impression of the other gifts using my iPhone Instagram app early this morning. These gifts were way more simple than the gift bag I made for Fleur's teacher. Simply because I didn't have enough time. I'm such a procrastinator! The Friends to the end label was made for Fleur's BFF. Eva has moved to another village about 20 minutes from our place and she'll go to a new school. I know Fleur will miss her, and I truly hope they'll stay in touch. The label was tied to a large jar filled with candy.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day.
