Zva Creative March DT Blog Hop!

Zva Creative and the Design Team welcomes you to join us this month for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special!

There is now an added twist to our blog hops, YAY! As you know, Zva offers so many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on FIVE of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts today, March 28th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, March 29th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, March 30th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes' blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Last Saturday I challenged Loes, Ilse and Carina to use bling and flowers on a layout or card. I made this card, based on one of the December CardMaps sketches, with this blog hop in mind. I used one of the navy blue pearl symmetrical flourishes. It's a great size to use on cards. The light yellow felt flower is from Zva Creative too.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Straw) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop) | Flourish, felt flower, adhesive dots: Zva Creative (PE02CB143, FL01CB115, AD01CB101) | Twine: May Arts | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Tea for Two) | Ink: Versafine (Vintage Sepia), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Doily Details Collection), EK Success 1.75 inch Circle Punch, Corner Punch

The blog hop begins here: Kim Hughes.

Your next stop on this blog hop is Julianne McKenna.

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us, and have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday

Yesterday I went to see Loes and Ilse, the two scrapping ladies from the north and their friend Carina. They've rented a bungalow for the weekend in a village not too far from my home and invited me a while ago to come over on Saturday. We chatted, had dinner (cheese fondue....yummy) and scrapped in the evening. Loes, Ilse and Carina made a layout based on my challenge to use bling and flowers, and I made three cards. I can't show all cards yet as two of the cards are for assignments. I brought my box with the kit and add-ons from My Scrapbook Nook. Here's a simple card featuring the cute Neighborhood collection from Crate Paper.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (White) | Patterned paper, stickers: Crate Paper (Neighborhood) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Basics) | Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Small Scalloped Border Die), sewing machine | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101)

My card based on the challenge to use bling and flowers will be up on my blog tomorrow. Make sure you stop by, because there'll be a new Zva Creative Blog Hop.

Enjoy your Sunday.

My dear mom is celebrating her 65th birthday today. We already had a birthday party last Saturday. We went out for dinner with family and my parents' best friends and had a wonderful evening. On my way home from work this afternoon I stopped by my parents to hand my mom her birthday card and a gift card holder. I used Crate Paper's Portrait collection, one of the add-on products offered along with the March kit from My Scrapbook Nook.

Twisted Sketches #51

It's been ages ago since I played along with Twisted Sketches. The twist to this week's Sketch #51 is button and I love buttons! I have a huge stash of buttons, have enough buttons for the rest of my life and still.....I can't resist buying buttons when I come across a new color. For this card I used the Emma's Shoppe collection from My Scrapbook Nook's March kit. I just can't get enough of the gorgeous papers and embellishments. I added a gorgeous soft pink flourish from Zva Creative as well as a felt flower and some twine from my stash.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Straw) | Patterned paper, button: Crate Paper (Emma's Shoppe) | Banner: My Mind's Eye (Stella and Rose) | Twine: May Arts | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Round and Round) | Ink: Versafine (Vintage Sepia), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Flourish, adhesive dots: Zva Creative (PE03CA111, AD01CB101) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Edgers #1, Medium Scalloped Border, Eyelet Lace Border), sewing machine

I've put this card as well as some other cards I made recently up for sale in my store. You can find all handmade cards here.

I'll be back with another card tomorrow. Until then...

Guest Designer Announcement, and a Birthday Card

Today is the day I would like to announce the April Guest Designer for my store Cards & Wishes. I was really pleased with the number of submissions I received in the past two weeks. It wasn't easy to make a choice and therefore I've decided to invite two Guest Designers instead of just one. I'm pleased to announce that Romy Veul and Anja Curvers will be guest designing in April. If you're not familiar with Romy's and Anja's work yet you should really check out their blogs. I would like to thank everyone who applied to this call.

I also have a card to share made with Echo Park Paper's For The Record collection. The wrinkled ribbon, felt flower, sentiment tag and 4" lace doily are available in my store.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Straw) | Patterned paper: Echo Park Paper (For The Record) | Twine: May Arts | Ribbon, felt flower, lace doily, sentiment tag: Cards & Wishes | Button: Papertrey Ink (Simply Chartreuse) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Mixed Messages) | Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Tools: MFT Stamps (Die-namics Perfect Bracket Edge), sewing machine

Have a wonderful evening. Until next time.

Happy Birthday

Our nephew Ruben is celebrating his 11th birthday today. You may know that Eric's sister Lisette and her family live Down Under so we are never able to visit them on their birthdays. Eric called Ruben on Skype to wish him a Happy Birthday. I was sleeping on the couch as I suffered from a terrible headache this morning. I did hear Lisette say that Ruben's birthday card arrived in time. I was happy to hear that, because I thought it would be late. I used October Afternoon's Campfire collection again. At the moment it's my favorite collection for masculine cards.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Straw) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (Campfire) | Twine: May Arts | Buttons: Papertrey Ink (Holiday Mix) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Enjoy The Ride) | Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Double-Ended Banners Die, Boxy Banners, Seeing Stars Collection), sewing machine | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101)

The girls played field hockey this morning. Unfortunately Fleur's team lost the game (5-1), but Fleur played a great game. She loves to play one of the defender positions, and she does best at that position. Since two weeks Sanne's been playing games too. They first have a 30 minute practice and then play two 15-minute games. Both games were won by her and her team (4-0 and 5-1). She even scored a goal in the second game.

I'm off to get ready for my mom's birthday party. Enjoy your day!

Wish, and Kadoosjes

Yesterday I received my first DT kit from My Scrapbook Nook. The main kit is filled with gorgeous papers, stickers and chipboard from Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe collection as well as beautiful brads from My Mind's Eye, thickers and ribbon from American Crafts and ribbon from Webster's Pages. I had other assignments to finish, but I couldn't resist making a card with my new goodies. All items used are part of the main kit except for the lovely flower button that is one of the add-ons. Most add-on items sold out quite fast, but there are still a few goodies available. I also bought the Portrait and Neighborhood collections at the Nook. So....my box was filled to the brim with Crate Paper yumminess. Info on the Nook's monthly kit club can be found here. And projects by the other DT members can be found here.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper, button, sticker: Crate Paper (Emma's Shoppe) | Ribbon: Webster's Pages | Letter stickers: American Crafts | Twine: May Arts | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Edgers #1), sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo)

I would also like to share a sneak peek of the cover of the new Dutch magazine Kadoosjes. The magazine is all about gifts and boxes. It can be pre-ordered as of March 21st at Paper & Pictures' online store. The price of this special issue is 7.95 euro. The magazine will be available as of April 15th.

Thank you for stopping by. Until next time.

Welcome to the World

I was about to play along with Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday challenge this week, and made this baby card using one of their impression plates. When I just checked this week's post on Nichole Heady's blog again I realized I misread the challenge details. You have to create a project that embraces partial embossing/debossing. I just didn't do a part of the soft pink cardstock, but I did it all. Anyways.....I'm pleased with my card, but won't be able to enter it for this week's challenge since I didn't follow the rules. I'm not sure if I have time to create another card since I have to work on DT assignments and I have to work an extra day this week.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted Cardstock: Sweet Blush, Stamper's Select White, Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: 2008 Bitty Dot Basics | Clear stamps: Mat Stack 4 Collection, Baby Button Bits, Night, Night Moon | Ink: Sweet blush, Raspberry Fizz, Versafine (Onyx Black) | Button: Aqua Mist | Ribbon, twine: May Arts | Tools: Guide Lines Grid Impression Plate, Mat Stack 4 Die, Limitless Layers: 1-3/4" Circle Collection | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101)

The beautiful striped ribbon is available at BeebieBelle. My friend Linda offers a 10% discount on all ribbon and twine through March 31st, 2011. During check out, enter cards10 in the redemption code box, and it will take 10% off. Discount will apply to ribbon and twine only, not to any of the baby gifts and shipping/handling. All gorgeous ribbon can be found here, and twine here.

Have a wonderful day.

Happy Happy Birthday

Today my father-in-law is celebrating his birthday. I made him this card using some old October Afternoon papers that are great for masculine cards.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Sawdust) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (Weathervane, Country Fair, Campfire) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Bash Sentiments, Fillable Frames #5) | Ink: Versafine (Vintage Sepia), Papertrey Ink (Enchanted Evening, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Button: Papertrey Ink (Holiday Mix) | Twine: May Arts | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Fillable Frames #5, Seeing Stars Collection), sewing machine | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101)

The card is based on a sketch I designed for My Scrapbook Nook. Each Monday I post a new card sketch on the forum. Since the forum is currently down due to migration I'll post the sketch on the Nook's Facebook page later today.

Have you seen this sneak peek of the Nook's March kit? Lots of Crate Paper yumminess! The kit is on its way to me and I can't wait to get my hands on it and create some cards with all the gorgeous papers and embellishments.

Have a great day, and thank you for stopping by my blog. Until next time.

Happy Birthday

It's been a week since I posted my last card. Last weekend I got sick and I was off work all week. I felt quite miserable due to the flu and a real bad cold. I slept a lot and didn't do much else other than reading some magazines. I didn't have any energy at all. I didn't feel like scrapping either. I've been feeling better since yesterday and immediately made a card. This one is for a friend who'll be celebrating her birthday on Monday. The doily and baby pink ribbon can be found in my store.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Sawdust), Papertrey Ink (Rustic White) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (Modern Homemaker) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Tag-its #1) | Ink: Versafine (Vintage Sepia), Papertrey Ink (Hibiscus Burst, Spring Moss, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Ribbon: Cards & Wishes | Twine: May Arts | Flower: Prima Marketing | Button: Papertrey Ink (Holiday Mix) | Doily: Cards & Wishes | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Edgers #2, Medium Scalloped Border Die) | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Anniversary

Birgit Koopsen, one of my favorite scrappers, is this month's guest designer at the Spanish blog PasiĆ³n por el Scrap. She designed a sketch, and asked me and some other scrappers to create a layout or card based on the sketch. I made this card using Echo Park Paper's Be Mine collection.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream) | Patterned paper: Echo Park Paper (Be Mine) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Fillable Frames #4) | Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Pearl flourish, pearl, adhesive dots: Zva Creative | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Love Lives Here, Heart Prints), Spellbinders Nestabilities (Fancy Tags), MFT Stamps (Die-namics Open Scallop Border), sewing machine | Felt: Papertrey Ink (Raspberry Fizz), Felt on the Fly

February Zva Blog Hop Winners announced

We'd like to congratulate the FIVE February Zva Blog Hop winners! Their names will be found on the following blogs:

Teri Anderson
Jillian Deiling Cassity
Carole Maurin
Jolanda Meurs
Susan Lui

One winner from each of the 5 blogs will receive a Zva prize package worth $30.00. Congrats winners!

Today I would like to share a project that was published in the Dutch Scrapbook magazine last summer. The journaling is about my everlasting battle to loose weight. Last July I did another attempt to loose weight and was convinced I could do it. Well, I did do it. I lost 8 kg in three months and had at least 8 kg more to go, but now.....I gained it all again. I feel bad about it, feel bad about myself and want to do something about it, but for some reason I can't get myself motivated to start again. I will read the book Grip op Koolhydraten (low carb) again and hopefully I'll get in the mood again.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (white) | Patterned paper: Upsy Daisy Designs (Vogue) | Pearl flourishes, pearls, 1/2" pearl brad, silk flowers, adhesive dots: Zva Creative | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection), QuicKutz (Diesel Alphabet)

Have a wonderful day!
