Zva Creative February DT Blog Hop!

Zva Creative and the Design Team welcomes you to join us this month for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special!

There is now an added twist to our blog hops, YAY! As you know, Zva offers so many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on FIVE of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts today, February 28th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, March 1st and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, March 2nd on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

On today's card I used a symmetrical pearl flourish, a paper rose and adhesive dots to adhere the scalloped circle. The stained twill tape will be available in my store later this week.

Happy Birthday

Today my sweet and adorable nephew Nick is turning 2 years old. The birthday party will be on Saturday, but I'll deliver this birthday card to their mail box on my way to school later this morning.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Sawdust) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (Campfire) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Basics, Banner Builder) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Onyx Black), ColorBox (Moss Green) | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Seeing Stars Collection, Small Scalloped Border, By The Number Collection), sewing machine

With this card I play along with Challenge #3 over at Die Cutting Divas, a new card challenge blog co-hosted by my blog friend Carla Peicheff. This week's challenge is all about stars. I often use stars when I have to make masculine cards.

Valentine Friendship Swap Gift

Over at the Papertrey Ink forum Cathy hosted a Valentine Friendship Swap. I love the holiday activities organized by forum members and signed up for this swap. We were supposed to send a small treat in some type of decorative packaging. I had the pleasure to send a gift to Noora. Fortunately my package arrived just in time for Valentine's Day.

I made her this card based on a sketch that was posted on the My Scrapbook Nook forum. I made the background by using three different stamp sets.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon, Papertrey Ink (In Bloom) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Background Basics: Text Style II, Little Lady, Fancy Flourishes, 2010 Love Tags) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Smokey Shadow, Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy) | Felt: Papertrey Ink (Raspberry Fizz) | Button: Papertrey Ink (Raspberry Fizz) | Twine: Cards & Wishes | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Love Lives Here, Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" Circle Collection, Double-Ended Banner, XL Rickrack Border), sewing machine | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative

My Dutch blog visitors will probably recognize these yummy petit fours from Hema. They have chocolate ones too, but the heart-shapes ones were perfect for the theme of this swap. I decorated the box by adding a stamped strip of paper and some die-cut labels.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream, Pure Poppy, Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Background Basics: Text Style II, Little Lady, Fancy Flourishes, 2010 Love Tags, Love Lives Here, Mat Stack 1 Collection) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Smokey Shadow, Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy), Versafine (Onyx Black), Versamark | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Mat Stack 1, Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" Circle Collection), sewing machine | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative | Other: clear embossing powder

The next gift is a bag of tea called Droom van IJsselstein named after the village where I live. I like the kraft bag the tea comes in, but I couldn't resist decorating the bag too.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream, Raspberry Fizz) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Background Basics: Text Style II, Little Lady, Fancy Flourishes, Love Lives Here, Tea for Two Additions) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Smokey Shadow, Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, Hibiscus Burst) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Mat Stack 4, Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" Circle Collection, Teacup)| Adhesive dots: Zva Creative

And last but not least is a little notepad I made for Noora.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream) | Patterned paper: Papertrey Ink (In Bloom, 2008 Bitty Dot Basics) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Little Lady, Take Note) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Raspberry Fizz), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Felt: Papertrey Ink (Raspberry Fizz) | Ribbon: May Arts | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Small Scalloped Border, Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" Circle Collection), We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper, Scor-Pal | Notepad: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream)

I should make handmade gifts more often, because I really enjoyed making these gifts for Noora.

My swap partner was my sweet friend Angy. She sent me some yummy dark chocolate sticks wrapped in a beautiful handmade box that you can find here. We already ate all chocolates, but the box is at display in my scrap room. Angy also made my girls a gorgeous favor bag filled with yummy chocolates and candies. Isn’t that sweet?

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday

Over at the My Scrapbook Nook forum Danni Reid hosts card challenges. I'm so happy I stumbled across Danni at the Nook. I love her work and missed her wonderful projects when she closed down her blog. This week Danni has challenged us to create a card with a banner on it. I grabbed my Papertrey Ink Banner Builder dies and October Afternoon's Campfire collection and created this card.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Straw) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (Campfire) | Twine: Jillibean Soup | Buttons: Papertrey Ink (Holiday Mix) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Bash Sentiments) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Banner Builder Collection + Double-Ended Banners), sewing machine | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101)

My Papertrey Ink order arrived this afternoon and I can't wait to play with my new goodies.

Have a wonderful Friday. Until next time!

Jillibean Soup's Dutch Mustard Soup

I like Dutch Mustard Soup - the real soup I mean - and Jillibean Soup's new Dutch Mustard Soup collection is as yummy as the soup is.

For CHA Winter 2011 I made several cards for the Jillibean Soup booth. Today I show you two cards made with Dutch Mustard Soup. I really like the colors of this collection. And what do you think of that cute heart pin?

The little yellow hearts on the second card were replaced by new alphas, but since I don't have a picture of the revised card I'll show you this one. The corrugated pennants are one of the new corrugated shapes.

Thank you for your visit.
