Hope Your Day Is Fabulous

A week and a half ago the DT at My Scrapbook Nook hosted a Virtual Crop. A great way to get to know the DT and forum members. One of the challenges was to create a layout using wood. I hardly scrap layouts and I was pretty busy that weekend so instead I made a card using my Background Basics: Woodgrain stamp set that's been collecting dust since the moment I bought it. A quick and simple card made in minutes. You'll find similar flowers and leaves in different colors in my boutique.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft), Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian Shores) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Background Basics: Woodgrain, Signature Greetings) | Ink: Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Felt: Papertrey Ink (Simply Chartreuse, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores) | Pearl brad, adhesive dots: Zva Creative | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Delightful Dahlia Die Collection, Beautiful Blooms II #1 + #3 Die Collection, Mat Stack 4 Die, Linen & Canvas Impression Plate), We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper

I worked on my Valentine's Day swap project for one of my Papertrey Ink friends, but can't show it here on my blog yet. As soon as she has received the parcel I will show all projects here. I'll leave you with a sneak peek of the card...

It's time to announce the winner of the gift card holder shown in this post. I randomly picked order number 211-47-MVM and that means that Marian gets the little gift. Marian, I'll mail it out to you soon.

Until next time....

Jillibean Soup

I got hit by the flu last Thursday and haven't been able to create anything. So today I share the projects that went up on the Jillibean Soup blog last week.

I really like the photo of Sanne and Eric on this layout taken by my SIL Lisette in the summer of 2009. Sanne has two loose teeth, and she did her own hair that day which you can tell by the amount of hair gel in her hair.

On this second layout I scrapped two photos of our photo shoot by Florence Bavinck. I just can't get enough of these photos. I would like to scrap them over and over again.

And a Valentine's card using some of the reds in the Jillibean Soup collections.

Have you kept an eye out on the Jillibean Soup blog lately? Jill has done a fab job and designed four beautiful paper collections, 6x6" paper pads, embellishments, corrugated shapes, chipboard alphas, mini kraft alphas, (Unity) stamps, and coordinating cardstock stickers. I already worked with Blossom Soup and Dutch Mustard Soup, and can't wait to get my hands on all the other goodies.

Today is the last day to get a 15% discount via Berdien's blog. She posted more cards yesterday. Hop on over to her blog to see her gorgeous projects.

Have a happy Sunday!

Zva Blog Hop Winners, Boutique Offer & Give Away

Did you enjoy Zva Creative's January Blog Hop as much as I did? I always enjoy visiting the blogs of the other DT members to see their projects with Zva's goodies. Did you notice that a few girls used the new designs that will be released at CHA this weekend? I can't wait to get my hands on the new crystals and pearls. Today is the day to announce the five January Zva Blog Hop winners! Their names will be found on the following blogs:

Tara Orr
Guiseppa Gubler
Nancy Doren
Tomoko Takahashi
Kim Hughes

One winner from each of the 5 blogs will receive a Zva prize package worth $30.00. Congrats winners!

Of course I can't do a blog post about Zva Creative without showing some Zva yumminess. Today's layout was published in the August/September 2010 issue of Scrapbookmagazine. I got an assignment to work with the Vogue collection by Upsy Daisy Designs. When I received the papers I immediately had to think of these beautiful photos taken by Yvonne van Dijk. I sent her an e-mail to ask if I could use the photos on a layout for the magazine and fortunately she was ok with it. The gorgous flourish, soft blue pearls and silk flowers are from Zva Creative.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (White) | Patterned paper: Upsy Daisy Designs (Vogue) | Pearl flourish, pearls, silk flowers: Zva Creative | Metal clip: Making Memories | Tools: QuicKutz (Studio Alphabet), sewing machine | Border punch: EK Success (Embossed Curve) | Other: foamtape

A while ago I asked Berdien Weideveld to guest design for my boutique. I've been a fan of Berdien's work for quite some time. She's recently changed her style and now uses lots of glimmer mist and Tim Holtz products on her cards and layouts. Her projects are so beautiful. Berdien shows that the products from my boutique Cards & Wishes fit any scrap style. Here's a sneak peek of the projects that Berdien made.

Hop on over to Berdien's blog for more inspiration. You’ll also find a special offer on her blog. If you use the discount code available on Berdien's blog you’ll get a 15% discount on all items (except handmade cards) in my store. Wanna know the details? Check this post on her blog.

I also have a gift card holder to show you featuring goodies from my boutique. I used a white envelope, a white felt flower, green/white twine and one of the sentiment tags. The patterned papers are from Scenic Route. Based on the comments left on the Zva Creative Blog Hop post it seems like I'm not the only one who misses Scenic Route.

Supplies: Patterned paper: Scenic Route (Garden Grove) | Envelope, twine, felt flower, sentiment tage: Cards & Wishes | Tools: sewing machine | Border punch: Stampin'Up! | Button: Buttons Galore & More

I'll be giving this gift card holder away to one of the customers who places an order at my boutique from January 26th through January 30th, 2010. Your order number will be your lucky number. I'll randomly pick a winner on Monday January 31st.

Have a wonderful day!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop, and Card Patterns #99

With the new year comes a clean slate along with many resolutions. This month's blog hop challenge involves you challenging yourself to use a Papertrey Ink stamp set that has yet to see ink or even one that might be collecting a little dust! Go through your stash and see what little used treasure it might hold.

I have quite some stamp sets that has yet to see ink, so this challenge is really up my alley. I ordered the Little Lady stamp set a few months ago, but haven't used it ever since. Zva Creative January DT Blog Hop!

Zva Creative and the Design Team welcomes you to join us this month for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special!

There is now an added twist to our blog hops, YAY! As you know, Zva offers so many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on FIVE of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts today, January 24th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, January 25th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, January 26th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘ blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Just like last month we were given a specific color combination to work with for this blog hop. My color combination is olive/lime. The gorgeous crystal leaf is in olive, but it doesn't really show in this photo. The small felt flowers and the olive pearl are from Zva Creative too. I dug into my stash and found these olive green papers from Scenic Route. I still miss that brand.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Straw) | Patterned paper: Scenic Route | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Make a Wish) | Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Felt flowers, crystal leave, pearl, adhesive dots: Zva Creative (FL01CB114, FL01CB116, CRW03CB102, PEW03CB151, AD01CB101) | Large ecru felt flower: Cards & Wishes | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Limitless Layers: 1-3/4" Circle Collection), sewing machine

The blog hop begins here: Kim Hughes.

Your next stop on this blog hop is my friend Jolanda Meurs.

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us, and have a wonderful day!

Goalkeeper

Fleur had to play hockey this morning. After a six week break due to the holiday season, the heavy snow and freezing cold they played their first game of 2011. Fleur was the goalkeeper today and she did so well. Her team won the game. Yay! Eric took this photo of her.

Be sure to check my blog on Monday because we'll have our monthly Zva Creative Blog Hop. Until then.....

Have a wonderful weekend!

Farewell to 2 Sketches 4 You

This is my second post for today! Scroll down to see my card for the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz!

I'm a little sad to say that Laura and Kazan have decided to close down shop at 2 Sketches 4 You as they want to venture out and explore different opportunities in and out of the crafting world. I was on the very first 2 Sketches 4 You Design Team and had a wonderful time, and it has always been one of my favorite sketch blogs. Laura and Kazan are wonderful, and they did a fabulous job to make 2S4Y a huge success. I'm sure their sketches will be missed by many card makers. Fortunately the 2S4Y blog will remain up for everyone, so if you ever lack inspiration you can always visit the blog and pick a sketch.

Past and present designers have contributed to the last two sketches by Laura and Kazan. Here's my take on Kazan's sketch. Be sure to visit the 2 Sketches 4 You blog to see the work by all the talented 2 Sketches 4 You designers.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Straw) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (Modern Homemaker) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Signature Series: Butterfly), MFT Stamps | Ink: Papertrey Ink (New Leaf, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Flourish: Zva Creative | Twine: May Arts | Button: Papertrey Ink (New Leaf) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Medium Scalloped Border Die, Love Lives Here Die Collection) | Other: music paper, wrinkled ribbon

The girls both celebrated their birthday in December, but due to our busy schedule and all other kind of fun activities in that festive month they haven't had a party for friends yet. Happy New Year II

As promised, I have two more New Year's card designs to show that I made for one of Eric's colleagues. I have only one Happy New Year sentiment stamp, so I used that one on all cards.

For this card I chose one of my favorite color combinations.....red, cream/white and kraft. The little star is cut from glitter cardstock which is a bit hard to see in the photo. The inspiration for this card came from Nichole Heady who made these beautiful gift tags.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Rustic White, Pure Poppy, Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft), glitter cardstock | Clear stamps: Mat Stack 1 Collection, Polka Dots Basics, Basic Backgrounds: Text Style II, Trees with Trimmings | Ink: Fresh Snow, Versafine (Onyx Black), Versamark | Tools: Seeing Stars Collection, Limitless Layers: 1-3/4" Circle Collection, Mat Stack 1 Die | Other: foamtape

Today's second card is my favorite of all four card designs. This color combination is another favorite of mine. I also love to mix 'n match various stamps sets. On this card I used six different sets.

I received the Sheet Music impression plate only recently, but it is already one of my favorites.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Aqua Mist, Ripe Avocado, Rustic White, Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Clear stamps: Basic Backgrounds: Text Style II, Polka Dot Basics, Star Prints, Embellishments, Banner Builder,  Take Note, Trees with Trimmings | Ink: Aqua Mist, Ripe Avocado, Fresh Snow, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Versafine (Onyx Black) | Tools: Sheet Music Impression Plate, Limitless Layers: 1-3/4" Circle Collection, Double-Ended Banners, Large Scalloped Border | Other: foamtape

Thank you for stopping by. Until next time.

Happy New Year

Early in December we had dinner with (ex)colleagues from Eric. I sat next to his French colleague and spoke with him about my card making. He asked me if I could make 11 New Year's cards for his team members. I agreed as long as I could make them after Christmas due to my busy schedule and he was okay with that.

Well, after all the festive activities in December I was lacking a bit of inspiration to create cards. I went over to Dawn McVey's blog - one of my favorite stamp designers - for inspiration. I just love her designs and her eye for awesome color combinations. My first card is inspired by this card from Dawn.

And a close up of the texture made with the Canvas & Linen impression plate.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Aqua Mist, Dark Chocolate, Stamper's Select White | Patterned paper: Happy Spots | Clear stamps: Mat Stack 1 Collection, Star Prints, Trees with Trimmings, Fancy Flourishes | Ink: Aqua Mist, Versafine (Vintage Sepia), Versamark | Tools: Canvas & Linen impression plate, Limitless Layers: 1-3/4" Circle Collection, Mat Stack 1 Die | Other: foamtape

My second card is based on this design by Dawn.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Hawaiian Shores, Stamper's Select White | Patterned paper: Green Boutique | Clear stamps: Mat Stack 1 Collection, Embellishments, Trees with Trimmings, Fancy Flourishes | Ink: Hawaiian Shores, Fresh Snow, Versafine (Onyx Black), Versamark | Tools: Mat Stack 1 Die, Seeing Stars Collection | Other: foamtape

I made four different card designs and made two or three copies of each design. I'll show the other two cards later this week.

Today is the last day to get a 15% discount on all items in my boutique Cards & Wishes. You don't have to enter a special code to receive the discount. I already applied the discount for you. Happy shopping!

Have a happy Sunday. Until next time...
