Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to all my American friends, and everyone else who celebrates Halloween today. When I see all the cute Halloween treats projects and cards on the internet I regret that we don't have Halloween over here. I do make one or two Halloween cards each year, but I don't make any treat bags. Here's another Halloween card I made the other day. I digged into my stash to find the scraps of the Salem collection by Scenic Route that I knew I still had.....somewhere.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Raven) | Patterned paper: Scenic Route (Salem) | Button: Autumn Leaves | Crystal flourish: Zva Creative (CR02CA103) | Tag: my store (#3 Manila Tag) | Ink: Ranger Distress Ink (Black Root) | Tools: sewing machine | Other: lace, floss, ribbon

I used a #3 Manila Tag on my card. You can use the tags either blank or embellish them with patterned paper, stamps, buttons or anything else you like. The other Manila Tags can be found in my store here. The 10% discount offer on all Manila Tags ends at Midnight CET today. No need to fill in a special discount code. The discount will be deducted from your order total. The 10% discount applies to the Manila Tags sets only.

I'll be back with another card tomorrow. Have a Happy Sunday!

Happy Fall

A while ago I came across the Papercraft Star challenge blog. I was about to play along with some of their previous challenges, but by the time I finally had time to create a card the deadline of that specific challenge had already passed. Future challenges are posted on the blog here, so you could work in advance. However, I am not that good at planning my activities. {wink} Anyway, this week's Challenge 19 is a photo inspiration challenge. Papertrey Ink's Falling Leaves stamp set was still on my desk, so I inked it up again because the colors and leaves in the photo inspired me to make another Fall card.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink Cardstock: Dark Chocolate, Spring Moss, Rustic Cream | Clear stamps: Falling Leaves | Ink: Dark Chocolate, Spring Moss, Orange Zest, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving

While cleaning my scrap room this past weekend I also organized my Papertrey Ink stamp sets. Some new stamp sets were still in the box that they came in. {blush} I finally got the stamps out and put them in the CD case. One of the sets was Take Three: Fall and that set is perfect for sketch FTL113 at Clean & Simple Stamping. Here's my take on the current challenge...

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic White) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (Weathervane, Country Fair) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Take Three: Fall, Falling Leaves | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Orange Zest, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Squares

Thank you for stopping by. Until next time!

October Zva Blog Hop Winners Announced, and 2S4Y

Good morning! Thanks to all who joined Zva Creative's monthly blog hop. We'd like to congratulate the five October Zva Blog Hop winners! Their names will be found on the following blogs:

Jillian Deiling Cassity
Veronica Goh
Ingrid Danvers ✿ that's me! ✿
Teri Anderson
Carole Maurin

One winner from each of the 5 blogs will receive a Zva prize package worth $30.00. I used Random.org to randomly chose a winner, and without further ado the winner of the Zva Creative prize package from this blog is:

Congrats, Rhonda V!! Please e-mail me your address. Congrats to all other winners too!

Working with the Zva Creative goodies is always a treat, and I couldn't resist using lots of their adhesive pearls on the felt Christmas tree. The inspiration for this tree comes from the amazing talented Nichole Heady from Papertrey Ink who used buttons instead of pearls. The design of the card is based on Laura's Sketch 64 from 2 Sketches 4 You.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Ripe Avocado, Rustic White | Patterned paper: Sugar Plum | Clear stamps: Background Basics: Christmas, Signature Christmas, Tree Trimming Trio | Ink: Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Plum Pudding, Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Ribbon: Plum Pudding Saddle Stitch | Pearls, foam dots: Zva Creative (PE02CB101, AD01CB101) | Tools: Medium Scalloped Border Die, Christmas Tree, sewing machine

The felt Christmas tree will be added to the Felt Embellishments section of my store this afternoon. The tree will become available in 3 different shades of green, so keep an eye out for them if you like felt die-cuts as much as I do.

Have a Happy Wednesday! Until next time...

Zva Creative October DT Blog Hop!

It's time again for the Zva Designers to join together to share a project that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun again this month!

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts now and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, Oct. 26th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, October 27th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

I made a card featuring the blue fancy butterfly flourish. The actual flourish is a bit bigger, but I cut the lower part of the flourish to make it fit on this card. The blue flourish goes really well with the new First Collection by Paper & Pictures. You'll get this exclusive and limited collection for free when you sign up for a monthly membership.

Don't you love that gorgeous blue butterfly flourish?

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper | Patterned paper: Paper & Pictures (First Collection) | Fancy butterfly pearl/crystal: Zva Creative (PEB03CB108) | Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps (Fancy Phrases) | Ink: Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Tools: sewing machine

The blog hop begins here: Kim Hughes.

Your next stop on this blog hop is the amazingly talented Debbie Olson.

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us, and have a wonderful day!

Happy Fall, and Store Update

I woke up early this morning to do some scrapping. Thanks to Eric I have space to sit and create again. My scrap room was a mess, and I mean a BIG mess. I was so overwhelmed by all the piles on my desk and all the boxes and mess on the floor that I had not idea where to start. Fortunately Eric is a bit more structured, and he made a start to clean that room yesterday afternoon. He didn't throw anything away, but he organized everything for me, so I only had to put my stuff away in boxes or in one of the cabinets. I hope I can keep my scrap room the way it is now.

A few weeks ago I received a box with the latest Zva Creative designs. I was in the mood for a fall themed card this morning, and used the Little Trees Crystals. The tree crystals have a perfect size for a card, but of course they are also great on a layout.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Sawdust) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (Weathervane) | Little trees crystal: Zva Creative (CRS03CB114) | Stickers: Prima Marketing (felt alphabet) | Tools: EK Success border punch Arch Scallop | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo)

I've added new items to my store this weekend. One of the new items are the Manila Tags that come in 4 different sizes.

The tags are of great quality and can be used as gift tags, but you can also use them on cards, layouts or any other scrapbook project. You'll find the Manila Tags here. I'll offer a 10% discount on all Manila Tags until October 31st, 2010. No need to fill in a special discount code. The discount will be deducted from your order total. Those who already ordered the tags earlier this weekend will receive a 10% refund. The 10% discount applies to the Manila Tags sets only.

I've also added a new set of felt embellishments. The set contains a teapot and teacup. You can embellish the felt die-cuts by adhering a button or little flower. For the sample gift tag below  I used the largest Manila Tag and the felt teapot.

Supplies: Manila Tag: my store | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop) | Felt teapot: my store | Button: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist) | Twine: May Arts | Tools: EK Success border punch Arch Scallop | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (sentiment from Tea for Two) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia)

At this moment the felt teapot and teacup are available in ecru only. New colors will be added to my store soon. If you would like to have the set in another color just drop me an e-mail. I don't have a color chart, but you can use the colors of the Build-a-Flower sets as a reference.

The store content loads quite slowly for which I apologize. I've been investigating how to improve the store's performance.

Be sure to visit my blog tomorrow, because there'll be another Zva Creative Blog Hop.

Have a Happy Sunday!

Back from London, and Got Sketch? 105

Hello! You may have wondered why I haven't posted anything for days. Well....Eric and I were in London for 5 days. We got back home about an hour ago (midnight on Wednesday). We had a fabulous time. We stayed at a hotel close to Covent Garden which is one of our favorite neighbourhoods. Of course we did some sightseeing, but we also shopped....till we dropped. I bought a new suitcase today because we couldn't fit everything in that one suitcase that we brought along on our way to London. {smile} On Tuesday night we went to see Wicked. What a fabulous musical! We both loved it a lot. The last time we were in London was in July 1996, and it was good to be back. London is a great city. The girls have been on holiday with my parents, and will come home on Friday.

A new sketch went up on the Got Sketch? blog, and I am one of the contributors. Sketch 105 is a great one, and here is my take on the card.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Fine Linen, Plum Pudding) | Patterned paper: Papertrey Ink (Sugar Plum) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Background Basics: Christmas, Signature Christmas) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Plum Pudding, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versamark | Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (Plum Pudding) | Twine: May Arts | Button: Papertrey Ink (Plum Pudding) | Pearl flourish, foam dots: Zva Creative | Tools: Papertrey Ink Medium Scalloped Border, Peace Be Still Collection, Sizzix Stars Die

Have a wonderful day!

Merry Christmas

Last Friday my new Papertrey Ink goodies arrived, but I didn't have time to play with my new stamps until last evening. I first wanted to play with Wreath for all Seasons which I think is a beautiful set. Another reason for using this set first is the challenge BethieJ is hosting on the PTI forum. There are three PTI stamp sets chosen each Monday and you make a card with one of the stamp sets. Since I don't have the other two sets the choice was easy. I combined the set with the new Framed stamp set. This is a quick and easy card and perfect for mass production.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic White, Ripe Avocado) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Wreath for All Seasons, Framed) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Ripe Avocado, Pure Poppy, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Foam dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB102) | Pearls: Zva Creative (PE02CB109)

Have a fabulous weekend!

Happy Birthday

Today's card is the final card of a custom card order. I was asked to make a birthday card based on this card. I didn't have enough of the same Cosmo Cricket papers so I used one of Echo Park Paper's collections instead. I really like the Echo Park Paper brand. The colors and designs are great and fun to work with.

The tickets, felt leaf and flowers come from my own store. I love the look and feel of felt. By combining the different flower shapes you can make a lovely embellishment. Some of the felt flowers have already sold out, but I'll be adding new stock as well as new colors to my store later this month, so keep an eye out for it.

Supplies: Cardstock: Anita's DoCrafts | Patterned paper: Echo Park Paper (A Walk in the Park) | Button: Buttons Galore & More | Twine: May Arts | Felt flowers: my store (Ecru #1, Abrikoosgeel #2) | Felt leaf: my store (Groen) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Bash Sentiments) | Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black) | Tools: Papertrey Ink XL Rickrack Border Die, MFT Stamps Die-namics Scalloped Scallop Die , sewing machine | Tickets: my store (Orange) Foam dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101)

Thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful day.

Just Because

Yesterday morning Fleur had to play a hockey game in Veenendaal. Her team played a good game and won with 2 - 1. Guess who made the second goal.......Fleur did!! Gosh....she was so happy. And so were my mom and I. I was so proud of her. This was Fleur's first goal and the smile on her face was priceless. On our way home we went to Paper & Pictures to hand in my work for Scrapbookmagazine. Now the deadline has been met I can spend time on making cards again. This morning I made a simple Just Because card that was finished in minutes.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Plum Pudding, Stamper's Select White) | Patterned paper: Papertrey Ink (2008 Bitty Dot Basics) | Twine: my store | Felt leaves: my store | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Delightful Dahlia, Background Basics: Tin Types) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Plum Pudding), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Small Scalloped Border Die, Delightful Dahlia Dies | Foam dots: Zva Creative

The purple white twine and green felt leaves are available in my store. Today is the last day to use the 10% discount code that you can find in this post on Karin van Belkom's blog. Did you notice she posted new projects in the past two days? Go and check her blog because she did a great job with the goodies. I love the way she colored the stamped images used on her projects in this post from yesterday.

Have a Happy Sunday!

Welcome, Little Baby

I've been busy working on my assignment for Scrapbookmagazine, but I did have some time earlier this week to make a baby boy card for one of Eric's former colleagues. The card is based on Sketch 84 from Card Patterns. It turned out a bit simple, but I think it's ok for a baby boy card. Love the baby stamp sets from Papertrey Ink.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream), Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: Papertrey Ink (2008 Bitty Dot Basics), BasicGrey (Basics) | Buttons: Buttons Galore & More |  Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Night Night Moon, Baby Button Bits, Polka Dots Basics) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Spring Rain, Fresh Snow, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (Spring Rain) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 4 Die | Other: foamtape

I have not much else to share. I really have to finish my assignment project today as it need to be submitted tomorrow.

Have a great weekend!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 17

It's been a while since I played along with Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. I purchased several new Waltzingmouse Stamps sets in the past few months, but haven't inked up some of the sets. Yeah I know.......too bad isn't it? Yesterday afternoon I was in the mood for making a Christmas card and wanted to use the beautiful Musical Backgrounds set. I really love using background stamp sets to create my own patterned paper. The Christmas sentiment is part of the Teeny Trees set. Here's my take on Challenge 17...

Twisted Cards #027

All good things come to an end and so does my time at Twisted Cards. I really enjoyed my DT term and it was always fun to work with Anam's sketches. What I like most about the Twisted Cards sketches is the twist that comes along with it. Today's card is my final card as a DT member. This week's twist for Sketch #027 is love....any how, any way.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Raven) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop) | Button: Autumn Leaves | Twine: May Arts | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Signature Greetings) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Tools: Sizzix Hearts #1 Die, sewing machine | Tickets: my own store (red tickets)

The baby card in my previous post was picked as one of the Top 3 winners at Unscripted Sketches. {smile}

Yesterday I was at the Scrap-a-Fairytale event hosted by Paper & Pictures. A great event with (inter)national teachers and a variety of classes with awesome projects. I was asked by Truike to assist at the Jillibean Soup classes which was lots of fun. I finally met the Big Bean (aka Jill Yegerlehner) and Kimber McGray in person. Jill and Kimber are wonderful and fun to work with, and such sweethearts too. Can you believe that I didn't take any pictures? Fortunately Jill, Kimber as well as some of the attendees took pictures so I am sure these will be showing up some time soon. Everyone was very enthusiastic about the Jillibean Soup cards and mini album classes. It was fun to talk to the other Papergirlz and to meet some of the scrappers that I know from Dutch forums. Compliments to Truike, her team, all teachers and Peter for all the hard work they did to make this event such a success.

I've already been looking forward to the next event on October 21st......the release of the new Paper & Pictures website and online store. You can already find a sneak peek here. It's so wonderful to be part of this team and all the excitement.

Have a wonderful Sunday. Until next time...
