Unscripted Sketches #74

I made three baby cards this week. One of them is for my colleagues A and T who got a baby boy last Friday. I used the Little Sprout collection from Fancy Pants Designs that I bought earlier this year but never used before. The card is based on Sketch #74 from Unscripted Sketches. I flipped the sketch so the sentiment tag is on the right side otherwise you wouldn't see that cute giraffe. I didn't stick to the circle shape either, because I wanted to use my Papertrey Ink dies.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream), Anita's Docrafts (card base) | Patterned paper: Fancy Pants Designs (Little Sprout) | Buttons: Papertrey Ink (Simply Chartreuse) | Twine: May Arts | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Star Prints, Night Night Moon) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Spring Rain, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 1 Die, Mat Stack 2 Die, MFT Stamps Die-namics Perfect Bracket Edge Die, sewing machine | Foam dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101)

Thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful day.

September Zva Blog Hop Winners announced

Good morning! Did you enjoy the Zva Blog Hop as much as I did? I always love to visit the blogs of my fellow DT members to see what they've come up with for the blog hop. Well, it's time for the announcement. We'd like to congratulate the five September Zva Blog Hop winners! Their names will be found on the following blogs:

Kim Hughes
Julianne McKenna-De Lumen
Wendy McKee
Benedicte Raphalen
Lisa Johnson

One winner from each of the 5 blogs will receive a Zva prize package worth $30.00. Congrats winners!

Of course I can't do a post about Zva Creative without showing you any Zva products, so here's another card featuring one of the gorgeous taupe flourishes. I cut a part from a large flourish to fit on this card. I love that you can create your own flourish designs by cutting large flourishes in half and adjust them to the size of your card or other craft project. The inspiration for this card comes from Betsy Veldman. I love her style!

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop, Fly a Kite) | Felt flowers: my own store (Abrikoosgeel #2, Brown #3 | Pearl Flourish, adhesive foam dots : Zva Creative (PE02CB130, AD01CB101) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Library Card, Just The Ticket, Vintage Labels) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Library Pocket Die, Beautiful Blooms II #2 and #3 Die Collection, sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Spring Moss, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia)

Enjoy your day!

Zva Creative September DT Blog Hop!

The Zva Designers are joining together again today to share a project that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun again this month!

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating incase there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts now and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, September 28th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 29th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

I was recently commissioned to make 7 cards. One of the cards has to be a baby girl card inspired by this card. I didn't want to copy the card, but I did use some elements and the same color combo. I love the softness of the gorgeous soft pink flourish, felt flowers and pink pearls from Zva Creative.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: BasicGrey (Basic Manila), Papertrey Ink (2008 Bitty Dot Basics) | Pearl flourish, felt flowers, pearls, foam dots: Zva Creative (PE03CA111, FL01CB116, PE02CB102, AD01CB101) | Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (Sweet Blush) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Night Night Moon , Polka Dot Basics) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Sweet Blush, Fresh Snow, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 1 Die, EK Success 1.75" Circle punch, We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper

The blog hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog.

Your next stop on this blog hop is the talented Julia Stainton.

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us, and have a wonderful day!

Wishing You a Beautiful Day

My colleague Mirjam is celebrating her birthday today. The card I made for her is based on one of Jessica Witty's sketches (page 152) in the Go-to Sketches magazine. The sketches and cards in the magazine are so inspirational. The felt embellishments come from my own store. The felt leaves are the latest addition.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop, Fly a Kite, Farm Fresh) | Felt flowers, leaf: my own store (Abrikoosgeel #1, Ecru #2, Blaadjes Olijfgroen Licht) | Twine: May Arts | Button: Papertrey Ink (New Leaf)  | Tools: Papertrey Ink Beautiful Blooms II #2 Die Collection, Delightful Dahlia Dies, MFT Stamps Die-namics Framed Greetings Die and Stamp Set, Die-namics Scalloped Scallop Die, sewing machine | Ink: VersaColor (Pinecone)

Today is the last day to receive a 10% discount on all felt Build-a-Flower sets. Use discount code FLOWERS10 at checkout in the comments field and you'll receive the discount. The 10% discount applies to felt flowers only, and is valid until Midnight CET on Sunday September 26th.

I'll be back with a new card tomorrow.

Have a happy Sunday.

Unscripted Sketches #73

I managed to create a card based on the new sketch from Unscripted Sketches just in time. Tomorrow a new sketch will be posted, but I really wanted to play along with this week's color challenge. I didn't have any time earlier this week, but this morning I had no appointments so I spent some time in my messy scrap room. Gosh....I really need to clear out that room. Time to do some major purging! Anyway, the challenge at Unscripted Sketches is to create a monochromatic card based on Sketch #73. I used patterned papers from October Afternoon's The Thrift Shop collection that match really well with Papertrey Ink's Aqua Mist color. Here's my take on the sketch...

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic White) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop) | Pearls, foam dots: Zva Creative (PE02CB101, AD01CB101) | Twine: May Arts | Button: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Round & Round 2009 Anniversary Set, All Booked Up) | Felt Flower: Ecru #3 (my own store) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Mat Stack 3 Die, Eyelet Lace Border Die, Beautiful Blooms II #3 Die Collection), EK Success 1.75" Circle punch, 2" Scalloped Circle punch | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia)

I used the littlest felt flower of the Ecru #3 set on this card. I offer a 10% discount on all felt Build-a-Flower sets this weekend. Use discount code FLOWERS10 at checkout in the comments field and you'll receive the discount. The 10% discount applies to felt flowers only, and is valid until Midnight CET on Sunday September 26th.

I now also have sets of felt leaves in four shades of green in my store. The leaves go really well with the felt flowers and make a great embellishment. You can find the felt leaves here.

Have a wonderful day!

Boo!

Yesterday I received a box with new Zva Creative products. Products that were introduced at CHA Summer last July. I was thrilled to see that one of the new items is a Halloween themed design. We don't celebrate Halloween in the Netherlands, but I love to make Halloween cards. I couldn't resist making a card with the Spider Web crystal. I didn't buy any Halloween papers this year, so I grabbed some Pink Paislee and My Mind's Eye papers from last year.

Zva Creative has crystal and pearl products in many colors but the black crystals are one of my favorites. Do you have a favorite Zva product? The ribbon used on the card is my own Peach Delight Crinkle Ribbon which is great for Halloween and fall themed cards.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Raven) | Patterned paper: Pink Paislee, My Mind's Eye | Crystal Spider Web, foam dots: Zva Creative (CRS03CB117, AD01CB101) | Twine: Jillibean Soup | Button: Autumn Leaves | Ribbon: Peach Delight Crinkle Ribbon | Chipboard Alphabet: American Crafts | Tools: Martha Stewart Zigzag edge punch, MFT Stamps Die-namics Framed Greetings Die, sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo)

Thank you for stopping by. Until next time!

Go-to Sketches - Merry Christmas

Last Friday I went to Paper & Pictures to meet up with Birgit Koopsen. I've been a huge fan of her work for a long time, and when she told me some time ago that she would spend a weekend with her scrapping friends Alice, Anette and Mirjam in Doorn in September we agreed to meet up with each other. It was great talking to Birgit and the other girls. I didn't have any intentions to buy something, but I couldn't leave the store without two cards magazines and a Christmas paper collection. One of the magazines that I bought is the Go-to Sketches magazine that's been on my wish list for a while. I love all the Paper Crafts magazines and couldn't wait to get my hands on this one as I love sketches too. Today's card is based on one of Teri Anderson's sketches (page 9). I digged into my stash of Christmas papers and used October Afternoon's collection from last year. The felt flowers come from my own store and can be found here and here.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic White) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon | Felt flowers: My Store (red and ecru) | Twine: May Arts | Buttons: Buttons Galore & More | Flourish: Zva Creative (CR03CA111) | Rub-ons: Pebbles Inc | Tools: Martha Stewart edge punch, Beautiful Blooms II #2 Die Collection, sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo)

Have a Happy Wednesday!

Store Update

Just a brief note to let you know that I've added new sets of hand-dyed ribbon to my store. Last time most colors sold out pretty quickly and I got several requests for this ribbon, but I hardly had time to update my stock. You can find all available colors here. The Light Brown ribbon is a new color.

You can also find some cute die-cuts in my store. Anja made a lovely card with one of the die-cuts. Today is the last day you'll get a 10% discount if you use the discount code that you can find here.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Twisted Cards #025

This morning the girls had to play hockey. Sanne had her weekly practice at 8.45am, and Fleur played her second match at 10.15am. It was a home match so we all had a chance to watch her. Last week Fleur's team won with 8 - 0, and today it was 3 - 0. Fleur is very enthusiastic and quite fanatical too. She had only four practices and two matches, but she's been doing pretty well. Eric has posted some photos of the girls on his blog.

There's a new sketch up at Twisted Cards. The twist for Sketch #025 is big. I used a big sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Say it with Style stamp set.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop) | Felt: Felt on the Fly (Ecru) |  Twine: May Arts | Buttons: Papertrey Ink (Hibiscus Burst) | Pearl flourish: Zva Creative (PEW02CB106) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Say it with Style, Basic Backgrounds: Hearts) | Tools: Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection, sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Smokey Shadow, Raspberry Fizz), VersaColor (Pinecone) | Other: tags

The ecru felt flowers come from my own store. All flowers can be found here. If you visit Anja Curvers' blog you'll find a 10% discount code. The discount is valid until Midnight CET on Sunday September 19th.

This evening Eric and I are going to the theatre to see Soul of Motown. We both love soul music, so it will be a fun night out.

Enjoy your weekend!

Jillibean Soup Projects, and Scrap-a-Fairytale

It's already been a few weeks since CHA Summer 2010 but I haven't shared my Jillibean Soup projects yet. I was assigned to create two cards. For the first card I used Old World Cabbage Stew, one of my favorite collections.

For the second one I worked with the Chicken Noodle Collection.

You may have heard about the Scrap-a-Fairytale event organized and hosted by Paper & Pictures from October 1st - 3rd. A great event with classes from Paper & Pictures DT members and international teachers from BoBunny, Sassafrass and......Jillibean Soup. Jill and Kimber will be teaching classes at the event and I can't wait to meet them in person. I've been on the Jillibean Soup Design Team for a year and half and now finally get a chance to meet the girls. I am sure it will be fun.

I'll be back tomorrow with a card for Twisted Cards. Until then!

Thanks, and a Special Offer

Last Sunday we had a great event with all PaperGirlz from Paper & Pictures. Truike had invited her DT for a special day. We gathered together at 11am and first had coffee and cake followed by a cooking class. We all prepared and cooked several dishes and deserts for our dînatoire (lunch + dinner). It was so much fun to do all preparations together while chit chatting with each other. We also had our photo for the new website taken by Fons, the photographer who also does the photography for Truike's magazines. Around 3.30pm we sat down for our dînatoire and finished around 7pm. It was a wonderful day and it was great to see everyone. To thank Truike for this event I made her this card. The card is based on Sketch 72 from Unscripted Sketches. My PTI forum friend Angy made her debut on the Unscripted Sketches DT this week, so I wanted to play along.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop, Fly a Kite) | Felt: Felt on the Fly (Ecru) | Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist) | Twine: May Arts | Button: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist) | Pearl flourish: Zva Creative (PE02CB144) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Mega Mixed Messages) | Tools: Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection, sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Other: tag

You may have noticed that I've often been using felt flowers on my cards lately. I now have them also available in my store. They come in three different shapes and many colors. You'll find all flowers here. You can use a single flower, but you can also create a lovely embellishment by using two or three flowers. Beside the felt flowers I've also added beautiful twine in several colors.

Anja has created several projects using items from my store that she'll showcase on her blog in the next few days. Anja is very creative, and very productive too. I am always amazed by the number of projects she shares on her blog. Here's a sneak peek of some of the projects she made.

Hop on over to her blog for more inspiration. You’ll also find a special offer on her blog. If you use the discount code available on Anja's blog you’ll get a 10% discount on all items in my store. Wanna know the deets? Check this post on her blog.

Have a fabulous day!

2S4Y Laura's Sketch 60

Earlier this week I finally got a chance to work with my new Favor It Box 1 die from Papertrey Ink that I ordered last month. I love all my dies and use my BigShot die cutting machine every single day. I just can't do without that tool. It's one of my favorites. The Favor It Box is a small gift box that you can fill with tiny treats. The front of this gift box is based on Laura's Sketch 60 at 2 Sketches 4 You. I thought it would be fun to make something else instead of the usual card.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop) | Felt: Papertrey Ink (Ocean Tides), Felt on the Fly (Ecru, Apricot) | Twine: May Arts | Button: Papertrey Ink (Ocean Tides) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Mixed Messages) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Favor It Box 1, Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection, Eyelet Lace Border | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Other: tag

I'm off to a business meeting. Usually I don't work on Friday, but today we have a meeting that I have to attend.

Have a fabulous weekend!

BoBunny's Card Challenge Tuesday

Yesterday morning while the girls were in school I was browsing the web and came across the new BoBunny Card Challenge sketch for this week. The bad weather got me in the mood for some fall colors.....I {heart} fall.....it's my favorite season.....so I digged into my stash to look for my BoBunny Kitchen Spice papers. I really like the colors of that collection. Perfect for a fall themed card. Here's my take on this week's sketch.

Got Sketch? 103

There is a new sketch up on the Got Sketch? blog today, and I was asked to contribute to this week's sketch. It's always a pleasure to be one of the Got Sketch? contributors, because I really enjoy working with Valerie Salmon's card sketches. I never have to think that long about a card based on her sketches. The cards always come together so easily. Here's my card based on Sketch 103.

Twisted Cards #023

We were out early today as Sanne has her hockey practice on Saturday morning. The weather has been beautiful so it was great to be outside, enjoy the practice and the sun. The girls really enjoy hockey and are very enthusiastic about it.

I have a card to share with you that is based on the new Sketch #23 from Twisted Sketches that went up today. This week's twist is clear, and I immediately had to think of my clear cards from ShortCuts. As you may know Alicia no longer sells ShortCuts products, but I still have some goodies in my stash. It's been a while since I used a clear card base for a card, but still love to use them.

Supplies: Transparency: ShortCuts | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (Fly a Kite) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Delightful Dahlia) | Ink: Versafine (Vintage Sepia), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Large Scalloped Border Die, Delightful Dahlia Die Collection, MFT Stamps Die-namics Oval Chain Border Die | Foam dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101)
