It's no secret that I {heart} Papertrey Ink. I came across Papertrey Ink for the very first time when we visited my SIL Lisette and her family in the UK in October 2008. We made cards together and she used some of her PTI stamps. I really liked the stamps but it took me another year to finally place my first order. I started off with 3 stamp sets, but ever since I've ordered many more stamp sets. As soon as I placed my first order I also became a member of the PTI forum. It's a great place of wonderful women and one guy. Susan (aka MadSky), one of the members is hosting a special blog hop today to show our thanks and appreciation to Nichole Heady for all she does for PTI. Nichole is an amazingly talented card maker and stamp designer, and I love her work. Her projects may look clean & simple, but she always comes up with great and innovative ideas to use the stamps. When I am not too sure about a new set it are often Nichole's projects that sell me on that particular stamp set.

Here's the Thank You card that I made for Nichole. PTI has given me lots of joy. I had never thought I would enjoy stamping so much. Before I discovered PTI I was never into stamping, but now I really love doing it. I love the creative process of selecting cardstock, stamps, ink, ribbon and other embellishments to create a card. Of course my card is also meant Julie, Jane, Jenn, the DT members, and everyone else at PTI. Thank you all!

Zva Creative August DT Blog Hop

The Zva Designers are joining together today to share a project that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun again this month!

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts now and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, August 31st and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 1st on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Today's card is meant for one of Eric's colleagues to wish her good luck in her new job. I used one of the taupe Symmetrical Pearl Flourishes (PE02CB135), and adhered the felt flower with a foam dot (AD01CB101). The green tickets are available in my own store.

Supplies: Cardstock: Action (white) | Patterned paper: Echo Park (Life is Good) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Mega Mixed Messages) | Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Felt: Felt on the Fly | Twine: May Arts @ BeebieBelle | Button: Autumn Leaves | Pearl flourish, foam dots: Zva Creative (PE02CB135, AD01CB101) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection, Medium Scalloped Border Die, MFT Stamps Die-namics Oval Chain Border Die

Happy Birthday

Today our sweet niece Rebecca is celebrating her 12th birthday. Gosh.....time really flies. I remember the day she was born so well. Eric and I visited her and my SIL in hospital and brought her a huge teddy bear. Now she's 12 and into fashion design and.....cars. We just spoke to her on Skype and Eric was excited to hear Rebecca talking about cars. I made her this card and fortunately it arrived in time. It's always a bit hard to tell how long it takes for a card to get from the Netherlands to Australia.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream) | Patterned paper: Echo Park (Life is Good) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Bash Sentiments, Polka Dot Basics II) | Ink: Versafine (Vintage Sepia), Papertrey Ink (Sweet Blush, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (New Leaf) | Twine: May Arts @ BeebieBelle | Button: Papertrey Ink (Sweet Blush) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Eyelet Lace Border Die, Mat Stack 1 and 2 Die, sewing machine | Other: foamtape

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday

When Truike from Paper & Pictures came back from CHA she brought home LOTS of sampler packs. She always lets us choose the papers we would like to work with and I chose the Togetherness collection from Cosmo Cricket. What a lovely collection! I made two lay-outs for Scrapbookmagazine and had some scraps left that I kept to create a card. I used them on this birthday card that I made for Hanneke who's celebrating her birthday today. Have a wonderful day, Hanneke!

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Light Kraft) | Patterned paper: Cosmo Cricket (Togetherness) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Bash Sentiments) | Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) | Felt: Felt on the Fly | Twine: May Arts @ BeebieBelle | Button: Papertrey Ink (Harvest Gold) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection, XL Rickrack Border Die | Other: Tickets Red

Have a great day!

Get Well

The mom of one of Sanne's new classmates had a surgery recently. I've been knowing her for a few years since her eldest son was in Fleur's class for a year and they all are in the same afterschool care center. I made here this bright Get Well card to wish her well and a good recovery. I used October Afternoon papers from various collections. I love that the colors and patterns from all their collections match so well together.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop, Farm Fresh, Hometown) | Button: Autumn Leaves | Twine: May Arts | Felt: Felt on the Fly | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Mega Mixed Messages) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection, MFT Stamps Die-namics Oval Chain Border Die and Scalloped Scallop Die, sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia)

You may have noticed that I often use white twine on my projects. It's my favorite twine color at the moment. I love the rustic look and feel of twine. The white twine that I use comes from BeebieBelle. It's very reasonably priced and available in 7 different colors. I have LOTS of meters of this white twine in my stash, because I don't want to run out of it.

Have a Happy Sunday. Until next time...

Twisted Sketches 021

Hi there! It's Saturday and that means a new sketch at Twisted Sketches. You can find Sketch 021 here. I rotated the sketch clockwise. This week's twist is staple....any how, any way. I digged into my stash of Scenic Route papers - I think I have about 100+ Scenic Route papers - and chose the Cape Town collection.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Raven) | Patterned paper: Scenic Route (Cape Town) | Button: Buttons Galore & More | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Say it with Style) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 1 Die, Fiskars Twinkle Twinkle Squeeze Punch, sewing machine | Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black) | Other: staples, foamtape

Have wonderful weekend!

Happy Anniversary

Another celebration today as it's my brother and SIL's 4th wedding anniversary. For their anniversary card I used Sasya's Sketch 24. I checked Sasya's Sketches before, but it's the first time I play along. Actually I had plans to create a card based on Sketch 23, but when I checked the blog this morning I noticed the deadline was passed and that a new sketch was posted. Here's my take on Sketch 24.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (White) | Patterned paper: Little Yellow Bicycle (Sweet Love) | Button: Papertrey Ink (Cream & White Mix) | Twine: May Arts | Ribbon: Creative Impressions | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Round & Round Anniversary Set) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Large Scalloped Border Die, Eyelet Border Die, Beautiful Blooms II #3 Die Collection, sewing machine | Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black)

I also added new tickets to my store. You can find the Cherry Pink ones here, and the Blue Star ones here.

I had a busy afternoon. The girls will have their first hockey training next week, so we had to buy hockey sticks, hockey boots, a ball, a bag and official club apparel for Fleur as she'll also be playing hockey matches. They both are really happy with their new stuff and are now playing hockey in the backyard.

Have a Happy Wednesday!

Big Birthday Wishes

Today my 'little' brother is celebrating his 39th birthday. No big party today as he and his wife are going away for a few days. Of course I had to make him a card. Due to DT assignments I had to finish last week and other activities I didn't have much time to create a card in advance, so it was a very last minute project. Since he lives close by I can drop the card in his mailbox today. The card is based on Kazan's new Sketch 59 that was posted yesterday at 2 Sketches 4 You.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream) | Patterned paper: The Girls’ Paperie (On Holiday) | Buttons: Papertrey Ink (Enchanted Evening) | Twine: Jillibean Soup | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Bash Sentiments, Take Note) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 2 Die, Martha Stewart Zigzag Edge Punch, sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Enchanted Evening) | Other: foamtape

I'll be back with another card tomorrow. Until then!

Happy Anniversary

My mom and dad are celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary today. 44 Years of love and happiness. It’s wonderful to see that they have been enjoying life. They love spending time together, meeting up with friends and going away on vacation, but they also have their own passtimes. The card I made for them is based on Challenge #10 at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge blog.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Raven), Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop) | Buttons: Buttons Galore & More | Twine: May Arts | Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps (Very Vintage Labels No. 10), Papertrey Ink (Background Basics: Hearts, Heart Prints) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Medium Scalloped Border Die, Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Ten, sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Vintage Cream), Tsukineko Memento (Tuxedo Black) | Other: ribbon, lace, foamtape

The girls went back to school this morning and I can't wait to hear their stories.

Have a wonderful day!

Congratulations

My sweet friend Kay celebrated her birthday recently. I would have loved to be with her on that special day to wish her a happy birthday in person. I miss her a lot and often think back to last October when we met each other for the very first time. She is such a wonderful person and a great friend. Here's the card I made for her using one of our favorite brands....October Afternoon.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop, Fly A Kite) | Button: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist) | Felt: Papertrey Ink (Simply Chartreuse, Cream) | Twine: May Arts | Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist) | Rub-ons: Melissa Frances | Tools: Papertrey Ink Medium Scalloped Border Die, Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection, MFT Stamps Die-Namics Open Scalloped Border, We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper, sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo)

Along with the birthday card I also sent her a gift certificate and some other goodies, and put it all in this gift card holder. For the gift card holder I used the largest size kraft envelope that is available in my store. I also used one of my sentiment tags.

Supplies: Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop, Fly A Kite) | Button: Papertrey Ink (Cream & White Mix) | Twine: May Arts | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Mixed Messages) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Medium Scalloped Border Die, Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection, sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Other: kraft envelope 85x125, sentiment tag, music paper

Thanks you for stopping by. Until next time!

Mr. & Mrs.

Today I would like to share the third wedding card with you that was part of a custom card order. I posted the other two cards here. For this card I also used the striking color combo red, white and black as requested. I really love this color combo myself a lot. Again I used a gorgeous black flourish from Zva Creative, a perfect finishing touch that really pops. Have you already seen the new pearl and crystal designs by Zva Creative? Gosh......they are so beautiful. Can't wait to get them in the mail.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy), Action (White) | Patterned paper: Papertrey Ink (2008 Bitty Dot Basics) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Big & Bold Wishes, Background Basics: Hearts) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Fresh Snow), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Button: Buttons Galore & More | Twine: May Arts | Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy) | Felt: De Viltwinkel | Flourish: Zva Creative (CR02CA119) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Large Scalloped Border Die, Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection

Yesterday afternoon Sanne had an appointment in hospital to have her cast removed. While waiting she told me she was a little nervous, but she did really well. Her arm is a bit stiff and she can't fully stretch or bend her arm yet, but that will improve in the next few days. She has to take it easy for two weeks, so no swinging on the horizontal bars yet. {wink}

Until next time!

So Sweet of You, and Special Offer

Life is back to normal in our household. Well.....almost. My alarm went off at 6.10am this morning as it was time to go back to work after 3.5 weeks vacation. Eric also went to the office this morning. The girls have another week off school, and go back next Monday. Sanne has a fun week with her friends Elze and Leanne. They signed up for a kids camp in our city, and will be away during the day building and painting a fort, doing crafts and all kinds of other fun activities.

Today's card is based on Sketch 76 from Card Patterns. It has been ages ago since I played along with Card Patterns and I missed it. I digged into my stash and used some Scenic Route papers. I still regret that Scenic Route is no longer in business. The Charlotte collection was the first collection I bought when I started scrapbooking.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream) | Patterned paper: Scenic Route (Charlotte) | Button: Papertrey Ink (Cream & White Mix) | Felt: Papertrey Ink (Dark Chocolate) | Twine: May Arts | Flourish: Zva Creative (PE02CB130) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Signature Greetings) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Medium Scalloped Border Die, Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circles Large, Classic Scalloped Circles Large, sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Other: pink tickets

The Card Patterns' sketch was the perfect sketch to use for my tickets. I have 7 different colors available in my store. The center is blank so you can add your own sentiment to it. This way you can vary a lot.

My friend Hanneke also created several projects using items from my store, so hop on over to her blog for more inspiration.

Have a wonderful day!

Twisted Sketches 019 and Giveaway Winner

The new card sketch is up at the Twisted Sketches blog. Sketch 019 is a great sketch and I made this card in a very short time. It all came together quite fast. This week's twist is stripe. The card is for the youngest girl of friends. She'll be celebrating her birthday tomorrow.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop, Fly A Kite) | Flower: Prima Marketing | Rub-ons: Melissa Frances | Button: Papertrey Ink (Hibiscus Burst) | Twine: May Arts | Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circles Large, sewing machine | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo)

Thank you all so much for your sweet comments on the Pixiepetals Giveaway post. Without further ado the random generator picked #1 as the winner and that is.....Savannah O'Gwynn. Congratulations, Savannah! E-mail me your e-mail address and I'll make sure you receive the $10 gift voucher for Pixiepetals.

Last Wednesday I went to Paper & Pictures to pick up some new CHA collections to work with for the new Scrapbookmagazine. Truike came back from CHA the day before and her (and Jolanda's) suitcase was packed with lots....and I mean LOTS....of new collections. I love it when Truike let us pick our favorites. I chose the new Togetherness collection from Cosmo Cricket, and Seaside from October Afternoon which is not really a new CHA Summer collection.

Have a fab weekend!

Wedding Cards

I recently received a custom order for three wedding cards based on this card. I didn't copy the design and didn't use the wide ribbon either, but I did use the same color combination and a black crystal flourish. I love the big Mr. & Mrs. sentiment from Big & Bold Wishes to use on wedding cards. The black flourish is one of Zva Creative's flourishes and the size is perfect for a card.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy, Rustic Cream) | Patterned paper: Papertrey Ink (2008 Bitty Dot Basics) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Big & Bold Wishes, Background Basics: Hearts) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Button: Buttons Galore & More | Twine: May Arts | Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy) | Flower: Prima Marketing | Flourish: Zva Creative (CR02CA115) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Medium Scalloped Border Die, We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper

The second card is based on this card although this one turned out a bit more simple. Again I used a black flourish from Zva Creative. The stamps - except for the sentiment stamps - are from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy, Stamper's Select White) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Giga Guide Lines), Waltzingmouse Stamps (Pic-Nic Patterns, Very Vintage Labels No. 10) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy, Fresh Snow), Versafine (Onyx Black) |  Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy) | Flourish, crystal pearls: Zva Creative (CR03CA112, CR02CB101) | Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Ten, We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper | Other: foamtape

I made a third wedding card, but I'll show that one another time.

You still have a chance to leave a comment on the Pixiepetals Giveaway post. Deadline is Midnight CET today.

Have a wonderful day. Until next time!

Pixiepetals Giveaway

Today I have two cards to show you featuring some goodies that AesaLina from Pixiepetals sent to me. AesaLina has some pretty handmade vintage embellishments in store. On the first card I used one of the Bitty Blooms Embroidered Butterflies and pink Dyed Vintage Eyelet Lace. The Little Yellow Bicycle papers are perfect for a vintage style card.

The butterfly button is lovely, isn't it?

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: Little Yellow Bicycle | Rub-ons: Melissa Frances | Button, vintage lace: Pixiepetals | Flowers: Prima Marketing | Ink: VersaColor (Pinecone) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection, EK Success border punch Fancy Flight, sewing machine

You don't necessarily have to be a vintage scrapbooker or card maker to work with AesaLina's goodies. Her embellishments also work with other styles. The colors of the faye flower go really well with Papertrey Ink's colors Enchanted Evening and Hawaiian Shores.

The gorgeous faye flower is made from satin and lace. I added one of my own sentiment tags to it.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Enchanted Evening, Hawaiian Shores, Stamper's Select White) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Beautiful Blooms II, Mixed Messages) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Enchanted Evening, Fresh Snow) | Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (Enchanted Evening) | Flower: Pixiepetals | Tools: Martha Stewart deep edger punch Floral Vine | Other: tag

Well, now for the giveaway. AesaLina was sweet enough to offer a $10 gift voucher to one of my blog readers. Wouldn't you love to win some of these pretty goodies? All you have to do is leave a comment on this post by Midnight CET on Thursday August 5th and one randomly selected winner will receive the $10 gift voucher to her Pixiepetals shop.

Thank you for stopping by. Until next time!

I Love You So Much

Eric and I had our first date on August 1st, 1996 so today we're celebrating our 14th anniversary. We don't buy each other gifts for the occasion, but I always make him a card. I used a sentiment from one of my favorite Papertrey Ink sentiment sets to stamp a sentiment on the red tickets.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop, Hometown) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Signature Greetings) | Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black) | Button: Autumn Leaves | Twine: May Arts | Tools: Sizzix Hearts Die, sewing machine | Other: music paper, red tickets

Have a fabulous Sunday!
