Baby

Hello! How are you? We have been enjoying the last days of our vacation. Only a few more days before we go home. We have been having a great time and the weather is good. In the evening I spend time on reading a book or making a card. I didn't take along that many scrapbook supplies so the possibilities are a bit limited. Today's card is a clean & simple one. The blue tickets on this card are available in my store and are fun to use on cards, scrapbook projects or gifts. I filled the blank center with a stamped sentiment. There are 7 colors available and you can find them here.

Supplies: Card base: Action (White) | Patterned paper: Papertrey Ink (2008 Bitty Dot Basics, 2009 Bitty Dot Basics) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Mega Mixed Messages, Star Prints) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Enchanted Evening), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Medium Scalloped Border Die | Other: button, white twine, Blue Tickets

Have a wonderful day!

For You

Today I have a little gift card holder to show you. I made this one for a friend who I gave a gift coupon for a high tea. I used a kraft envelope for this gift card holder. As mentioned earlier this week I would add new items to my store and the kraft envelope is one of the new items. I have two sizes of kraft envelopes and one size of white envelopes available. For this gift card holder I used the smallest size. You can find the other envelopes here.

Supplies: Patterned paper: Papertrey Ink (Green Boutique) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Tea for Two Additions) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian Shores), Memento (Vintage Sepia) | Twine: May Arts | Tools: Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 2 Die, We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper | Other: foamtape, kraft envelope 65x105

I'll be back tomorrow with a card featuring the blue tickets that are also available in my store. The tickets are available in 7 colors. You can find them here.

Until then!

Twisted Sketches 017

Due to personal circumstances I was unable to make a card for Sketch 015, but now I am back with Sketch 017 from Twisted Sketches. This week's twist is....glitter. I used one of Pebbles Inc's Twitterpated chips that already has glitter on it, so that made it easy to quickly create a card.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (White) | Patterned paper, chips: Pebbles Inc (Twitterpated) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Signature Greetings) | Ink: Memento (Onyx Black)

I would love to see your take on this week's sketch. Will you play along with us?

Have a fabulous weekend!

Store Update

I have been busy making new items for my store. Most of my sentiment tags ran out of stock, so I added new sets of tags. You can find them here.

I also made some new embellishments. Lovely teapots, teacups and labels in various colors cut from rustic white cardstock. These embellishment are great for cards and gifts. For now I offer the embellishments in 4 different color combos. You can find the sets here. Stock is limited at the moment, but new sets will be added soon. If you're interested in a set that is sold out feel free to contact me. If you're looking for a specific color combo you can contact me too.

More new items will be added to my store soon.

I'll be back on Saturday with my new Twisted Sketches card. Until then!

Zva Creative July DT Blog Hop

The Zva Designers are joining together today to share a project that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun again this month!

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. There are 19 design team members, so be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

This Blog Hop runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, July 20th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, July, 21st on each of the winning blogs and the full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Here's my project for today. I made a favor bag using one of my Sizzix Bigz XL dies. The gorgeous Zva flourish is the Crystal Flourish II Rosy.

Supplies: Patterned paper, chips: Pebbles Inc. (Twitterpated) | Flourish: Zva Creative Crystal Flourish II - Rosy (CRS02CB110) | Twine: May Arts | Button: Papertrey Ink (White & Cream mix) | Twine: May Arts | Tools: Sizzix Bigz XL Die Favor Bag | Other: ribbon

Your next stop on this blog hop is Carole Maurin.

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us, and have a wonderful day!

It's time to reveal the winner of my Summer Challenge. Thanks to all who played along with my challenge. You all made beautiful, summer themed cards.

Without further ado, the winner is........Monica. I just love her watermelon card. The way she used a Cuttlebug Halloween embossing folder to create texture is quite clever. The buttons, fabric and pearls are perfectly chosen as embellishments. Great job, Monica! E-mail me your addy and I will get the prize package in the mail to you.

I plan to host more challenges as of September so keep an eye out for the next one.

Jillibean Soup revealed its first new collection yesterday. It's Monster Stew! Don't you just love the cute little monsters? You still have a chance to win this collection by leaving a comment here. A winner will be picked tomorrow.

Happy Birthday, Papa!

Today my dad is celebrating his 70th birthday. We already celebrated his birthday with family and friends in a restaurant last Saturday. Each year I think back to the fall of 1999 when my dad was diagnozed with cancer for the first time. The year after he would turn 60 years old but my mom wasn't too sure if he would make it. Well, he did make it and things went well. In 2003 the cancer hit back and things looked pretty bad at the time. He spent more than a month in hospital and needed quite some time to recover. Now, 10 years after the first diagnosis my dad is still with us and doing really well, and I am so thankful for that. He is the greatest dad and a wonderful granddad to his 3 grandchildren.

Happy 70th Birthday, papa! I love you...

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream) | Patterned paper: The Girls' Paperie (On Holiday) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Fillable Frames #4, Outline Alphabet) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Enchanted Evening, Pure Poppy) | Stickers: My Little Shoebox | Buttons: Papertrey Ink (Enchanted Evening) | Twine: May Arts | Tools: Papertrey Ink Fillable Frames #4 Die, sewing machine | Other: foamtape

Sanne will have an appointment in hospital this afternoon. Fingers crossed that she doesn't need surgery. *ETA* Sanne doesn't need surgery. She's got a permanent (purple) cast for 4 weeks.

Have a wonderful day!

Welcome to the World

Now that my little girl has broken her elbow there is less time to spend on crafting as she needs a little more care than usual. I also have CHA, DT and magazine assignments to work on and that means less time to create cards to showcase on my blog.

A few weeks ago I was commissioned by one of Eric's colleagues to make a baby girl card. Last month I ordered the Night, Night Moon set from Papertrey Ink and inked it up for the very first time today. I was inspired by Betsy Veldman and Melissa Phillips, two of my favorite card makers.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: Papertrey Ink (2008 Bitty Dot Basics), Basic Grey (Basics) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Night, Night Moon, Background Basics: Text Style II) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Sweet Blush, Fresh Snow, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Buttons: Papertrey Ink (White & Cream Mix) | Twine: May Arts | Tools: Papertrey Ink Eyelet Lace Border die, Mat Stack 2 Die, sewing machine | Other: foamtape

Don't forget about my Summer Challenge. There are already 8 entries, but I would love to see more summer themed cards. Deadline is midnight CET on Tuesday July 13th.

Until next time!

Got Sketch? 101

A new sketch by Valerie Salmon is up on the Got Sketch? blog, and I am one of the contributors. Valerie's sketches are always fun and easy to work with and Sketch #101 is no exception.

Here's my take on the sketch. I stamped the background with one of the Pic-Nic Patterns stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps. For the patterns on the white squares I used Papertrey Ink's Background Basics: Botanicals. The gorgeous crystal flourish and pearls are from Zva Creative.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian Shores, Stamper's Select White) | Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Background Basics: Botanicals, Daily Designs Sentiments), Waltzing Mouse (Pic-Nic Patterns) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian Shores, Fresh Snow), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Felt: Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian Shores) | Crystal flourish, pearls, foam dots: Zva Creative (CRW02CA105, PE02CB102, AD01CB101) | Tools: Papertrey Ink Medium Scalloped Border Die, Butterfly Die We R Memory Keepers

Check the Got Sketch? blog to see the contributions by Rae Barthel, Dawn McVey and Windy Robinson.

Sanne has been doing well. Fortunately she has no pain, but the warm weather is causing some itching. She is getting used to her cast although it's a bit uncomfortable for her to sleep with the cast.

Have a wonderful day!

Poor Thing

Sanne, our youngest girl broke her elbow at daycare this afternoon. She was playing on one of the horizontal bars turning over and over, lost her grip and fell on the ground. Ouch! Eric took her to our GP who referred her to first aid in hospital. They spent more than 4 hours over there. She has a temporary splint and will have another appointment next week. If all looks good she gets a cast for at least 4 weeks. If things don't look well she needs a surgery. Summer break has just started, so timing is not that great... Fortunately she is lefthanded. Hope our sweetie will recover soon.

There is also a good thing today. The Dutch football team is going to the World Cup final. Gosh....it wasn't easy, but they did it!

Are you in for a challenge? To kick off my girls' summer break I thought it would be nice to host a summer challenge. The challenge is easy....create a card or any other project that represents summer. What comes to your mind when you think of summer?

Trigger Target, and Top 3 Passionista

At the beginning of May I joined the Tuesday Trigger by Nina Brackett on the Moxie Fab Blog. You may recall that I made this card for the challenge. It was only recently that I found out that I was one of the Trigger Targets chosen by Cath Edvalson. {blush} I had already checked the blog several times after the deadline to see if the winners were announced - not that I had expected to be one of the Trigger Targets, but I always love to see who made it - but for some reason I totally missed the announcement.

And do you remember the card for the one layer card challenge at A Passion for Papertrey that almost caused me a headache? Well, my attempts were worth it, because Aimes and Kate selected me as one of the three winners. Both girls are amazingly talented and their personal blogs as well as the A Passion for Papertrey are a great source of inspiration.

Oh....and look what I made earlier this week. Some gorgeous ribbon in various colors. I will be adding this ribbon to my store this weekend.

Have a fabulous weekend. Our weekend had a great start as the Dutch football team won against Brasil. Until next time!
