Mr. & Mrs.

I don't know what it is but I've been lacking inspiration at the moment. The hours spent in my scrap room this week were mostly spent on thinking of what stamps and colors combos to use. I hardly created anything. And when I did create something it was not to my satisfaction. Whenever I am in need for inspiration I check challenge blogs and one that I like a lot is A Passion for Papertrey.  It's been a while since I played along with Aimes and Kate. The current challenge is to create a one layer card which was a perfect challenge for a wedding card I had to make. My friend Linda asked me to make a clean & simple wedding card. I cheated a bit on the challenge as it is not really a one layer card, but since I haven't used any embellishments and only used stamps I think this card will do for the challenge. The card is pretty clean & simple, but I can tell you it took me quite some time to finish it. After three attempts I almost gave up on the stamping. The first time I stamped the frame it was not fully covered. The second time the stamped frame was damaged when I removed the post-it note to create a space for the sentiment. The third time I dropped my clear block on the white cardstock which left a black spot. Fortunately the fourth attempt went well.

Supplies: Cardstock: Core'dinations ColorCore, Papertrey Ink (Stamper's Select White) | Stamps: Big & Bold Wishes, Take Note, Heart Prints | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Raspberry Fizz), Versafine (Onyx Black)

Take care, and until next time.

  1. I'm sorry your creativity is failing you right now Ingrid, I hate when that happens to me! I always find it's best not to "push" it, I usually just take a break from it for a few days. But I have to tell you, this card is FABULOUS!!! It really isn't easy to do CAS "well", but you've nailed it here. And I hear you regarding doing it over and over, I'm always getting little blotches of ink on my super simple cards, and with CAS it really does have to be perfect, no covering up mistakes there.

  3. I think your troubles were worth it in the end, I love this card! I know the feeling though, you finally think you are getting somewhere and then you smudge an image or drop the block...ugh!

  4. I often find myself uninspired and it's usually when I'm very tired or stressed out by life. Like Diane, I take a break.

This card is amazing! Such a cool use of Take Note--I love the ruler lines that Nichole adds to her cards, but I can never replicate it without problems. I'm definitely going to try this!

  5. It's no fun when the mojo leaves (mine left for months last spring) but it always returns. :) I couldn't figure out how you did the frame and I couldn't figure out where you used Take Note. And then it finally clicked - the frame is actually the large stamp from Take Note! Duh! I thought you drew the lines with a pen. Love this idea (and will probably borrow it for one of my future cards)!!

  6. I was a bit like that yesterday, not getting the right vibes. I eventually just gave up for the day. I'm glad you stuck with it, because this card is gorgeous. I love the simplicity of it. Lift worthy! xox

  16. I've been feeling the same in terms of a dry spell in creativity. I like to think that it comes in peaks and valleys :-)

That's a fabulous card! Fourth time's a charm ;-) I love the simplicity, and the boldness of the black frame and writing.

  18. Lovely CAS card. The third time was the charm! I am having a similar week craft-wise. I purchased a coffee cup cutting file, but only one out of every three tries cut properly. My machine would get hung up and shred my card stock. I ruined 6 12x12 sheets with only 6 coffee cups I can salvage. I checked the tension of my blade, but not sure what is going wrong.

  26. Fourth time lucky, eh?! I have many inky sessions where I just cannot ink, stamp, stick and ta-dah! Totally worth your persistence on this card though, I love the clean design! I too am suffering major mojo problems, haven't got inky for ages but I know I will when life's stresses fade a little; sometimes you just gotta step away from it all!
Oh and I'll totally ignore that base layer of grey card for our challenge ;D Thanks so much for playing along with us!
    Hugs,
