Thank You So Very Much

Did you enjoy Zva Creative's Blog Hop as much as I did? I always love visiting the blogs of my fellow DT members to see what they've created for the blog hop. The projects are always so diverse and inspirational.

I'm sure you are curious to find out who the winners are of the Zva December Blog Hop. Well, their names will be found on the following blogs:

Angelica Franssen
Tanya Tahir
Debbie Olson
Windy Robinson
Gail Lindner

One winner from each of the 5 blogs will receive a Zva prize package worth $30.00. Congrats winners!

Of course I can't do a blog post about Zva Creative without showing another card using one of their gorgeous crystal flourishes. The black crystals are one of my favorites and again I used the Double Flourishes Crystal Jet (CR03CA112). It's the same flourish as the one I used on the blog hop card.

Zva Creative December DT Blog Hop!

Zva Creative and the Design Team welcomes you to join us this month for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special!

There is now an added twist to our blog hops, YAY! As you know, Zva offers so many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on FIVE of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts today, December 27th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, December 28th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, December 29th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

My specific color combination for this blog hop project is red, cream and black. It's one of my favorite combinations. This card features the Double Flourishes Crystal Jet (CR03CA112).

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream, Pure Poppy) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Background Basics: Text Style II, Basic Backgrounds: Hearts, Heart Prints) | Ink: Pure Poppy, Smokey Shadow, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Versafine (Onyx Black) | Button: Papertrey Ink (White & Cream Mix) | Twine: May Arts | Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy) | Crystal flourish, adhesive dots: Zva Creative (CR03CA112, AD01CB101) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Limitless Layers: 1-3/4" Circle Collection) | Other: doily

The blog hop begins here: Kim Hughes.

Your next stop on this blog hop is Angelica Franssen.

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us, and have a wonderful day!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you all!! We have a white Christmas this year. We haven't had any fresh snow since Monday, but we got about 9 inches of snow last weekend and it hasn't melted yet. Today is a relaxing day. No plans....just being together with the four of us. Listening to Christmas songs on the radio, have dinner together and watch Home Alone on TV with the girls this evening.

The last Christmas card that I have to share is the card that I made for my mom and dad. My mom is addicted to Papertrey Ink too, so I wanted to use Papertrey Ink goodies only. Well.....I added some Zva Creative pearls for the finishing touch. I think this is my favorite of all Christmas cards that I made this year.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Vintage Cream, Ripe Avocado | Patterned paper: Distressed Dots | Clear stamps: Holly Jolly, Fillable Frames #10, Big & Bold Holiday Wishes, Wreath for All Seasons | Ink: Ripe Avocado, Vintage Cream, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, ColorBox (Cranberry), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Button: Pure Poppy | Twine: May Arts | Pearls, adhesive dots: Zva Creative | Felt: Felt on the Fly | Tools: Eyelet Lace Border Die, Fillable Frames #10 Die, Peace Be Still Collection, Seeing Stars Collection, Medium Scalloped Border Die, sewing machine

Have a wonderful Christmas day with your loved ones.

Happy Birthday, Sanne!

Today our 'little' girl is turning 8. She was anxiously waiting for us to wake her up this morning. She's really pleased with the gifts we bought her. She got a book, a JBL music loudspeaker for her iPod and Play-Doh's Mega Fun Factory. She still loves playing with Play-Doh and wanted the Mega Fun Factory so badly. Of course I also made her a card. I had something else in mind, but ended up using some of my favorite papers from October Afternoon. The turquoise wrinkled ribbon is available in my store and can be found here.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (Fly a Kite, Ducks in a Row) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Bash Sentiments, Fillable Frames #10) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Button: Rusty Pickle | Twine: May Arts | Ribbon: Cards & Wishes | Pearl flourish, pearl dots, adhesive dots: Zva Creative (PE02CB131, PE02CB102, AD01CB101) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Banner Borders Die, Fillable Frames #10), sewing machine

Wishing you all a wonderful day and Christmas Eve.

More Christmas Cards

Only a few days till Christmas and I am still not in the mood. We haven't made any plans yet, don't know what to eat for dinner and I still have to run all errands. We also have Sanne's birthday on December 24th.

I was busy working on my assignments for the new issue of Scrapbookmagazine this past week, and didn't have much time to work on anything else. I still have some Christmas cards to share that were part of a custom card order. Two cards in the traditional red and green color combo.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft), Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy, Rustic White) | Patterned paper: Papertrey Ink (Distressed Dots) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Wreath for All Seasons), Waltzingmouse Stamps (Pic-Nic Patterns) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Ripe Avocado, Pure Poppy, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Ribbon: Papertrey Ink |  Tools: Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 4 Die, Small Scalloped Border Die

I had a hard time taking a good photo of the second card. The sentiment is a bit unsharp in the photo, but it looked better on the card.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft), Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy, Rustic White) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Tree Trimming Trio, Background Basics: Text Style II) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Ripe Avocado, Pure Poppy, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Tools: We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper | Other: epoxy stickers 1/2" circles

The last card is a lift of one of Nichole Heady's cards. I just love her style.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft), Action (white card base), Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian Shores, Simply Chartreuse) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Turning a New Leaf, Vintage Ornaments) | Ink: Versamark | Embossing powder: Filigree (white) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Ornaments Collection), heattool, sewing machine

Have a wonderful day.

Today my sister-in-law Lisette is celebrating her birthday. She already let me know that the birthday card I made for her made it in time. Happy Birthday, Lisette! Wishing you a wonderful day.

Supplies: Cardstock: Action (white), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (Schoolhouse) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Turning a New Leaf, Birthday Bash Sentiments) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Button: Papertrey Ink (White & Cream Mix) | Ribbon: Cards & Wishes | Twine: May Arts | Pearl flourish, pearls, foam dots: Zva Creative (PEB03CA108, PEC02CB101, AD01CB101) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Mat Stack 1 Die, Small Scalloped Border Die), sewing machine

We had about 8 inches of snow this weekend and more snow is expected. I wish I was already off for the holidays so I don't have to travel to work, but I have to work three more days this week.

Have a Happy Sunday!

Teacher Gifts

Last evening the girls had their annual Christmas dinner at school. They looked stunning in their new clothes. They also had a little make-up on and lots of glitters in their hair. I made them both gifts and cards for their teachers.

I kept the cards and favor bags clean & simple as I had to make four sets. I had planned to work ahead, but as usual it was a last minute project finished on the day itself.

For the Christmas card I used Musical Backgrounds from Waltzingmouse Stamps and Wreath for All Seasons from Papertrey Ink. Fleur's female teachers got a card with large olive green crystals from Zva Creative on it.

Sanne's male teachers got the same card, but no crystals for them.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper | Clear stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps (Musical Backgrounds), Papertrey Ink (Wreath for All Seasons) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Ripe Avocado, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), ColorBox (Cranberry), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Twine: May Arts | Crystals, foam dots: Zva Creative | Tools: Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 1 Die

I made them all the same favor bag filled with delicious chocolates filled with caramel and orange/mandarin. The caramel ones are the best....yummy!

I love the red gingham checked ribbon and the red & green color combo.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Ripe Avocado, Bazzill Basics Paper | Clear stamps: Holly Jolly, 2010 Holiday Tags, Friendship Jar, Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers | Ink: Ripe Avocado, ColorBox (Cranberry) | Ribbon, twine: May Arts | Tools: Favor It Box 2, Limitless Layers: 1-3/4" Circle Collection | Other: foamtape

I'll be back with a card on Sunday. Have a wonderful weekend!

Thinking of You

Today's sympathy card is meant for someone who lost her father-in-law unexpectedly last week. I know her through work. She works at one of our clients, and looks after one of my bosses who works at that client site for three days a week. I met her in person a few months ago, and want to let her know that I've been thinking about her. I used the Larger Than Life set designed by Lisa Johnson. A wonderful and versatile set. It can be used for various occasions.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Smokey Shadow, Rustic Cream | Patterned paper: 2009 Bitty Dot Basics | Clear stamps: Larger Than Life, Asian Fusion (sentiment) | Ink: Smokey Shadow, ColorBox (Antique Pewter), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Tools: Small Scalloped Border Die, Larger Than Life Die, sewing machine | Foam dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101)

The girls will have Christmas dinner at school this evening, and I have to prepare some dishes this afternoon. Off to run some errands. See you next time....

A Merry Christmas to You

Life's hectic at the moment. I always have too many things on my to do list in December and too little time to do everything. I have to work today, but will be off the rest of the week. I look forward to be able to catch up on several things.

Today's Christmas card is made with three beautiful sets from Waltzingmouse Stamps. I've been stamping for a bit over a year now, and can't imagine life without it. I just love the creative process of picking stamps, colors, embellishments and create a card.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop) | Clear stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps (Vintage Ornaments, Compliments of the Season, Musical Backgrounds) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), ColorBox (Antique Pewter), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Button: Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy) | Twine: May Arts | Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities (Heirloom Ornaments), sewing machine | Other: Ribbon(Frosted Lace)

Have a wonderful day, and until next time!

Happy Birthday to You, Fleur!

Today Fleur is turning 10 years old. She's been excited about her birthday for weeks.  Our families will be coming over at the end of the afternoon as Fleur's having a birthday party from one of her best friends.

For her birthday card I used the 9 Allée des ateliers collection from 4heures37 and a gorgeous white pearl flourish from Zva Creative.

Supplies: Cardstock: Action (white card base) | Patterned paper: 4heures37 (9 Allée des ateliers) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Bash Sentiments) | Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black) | Button: Papertrey Ink (Blueberry Sky) | Twine: May Arts | Button: Papertrey Ink (White & Cream Mix) | Pearl flourish, adhesive dots: Zva Creative | Felt flowers: Cards & Wishes | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Medium Scalloped Border Die), sewing machine | Other: Ranger Stickles (Frosted Lace)

The felt flower embellishment is made of the largest flower of this set and the medium sized flower from this ecru set available in my boutique. Today is the last day to receive a 15% discount on all items in the boutique.

Not much else to share today. I'm off to bake a cake for this afternoon and cupcakes for school. Have a wonderful day!

My New Boutique.....Cards & Wishes

I just opened my new boutique Cards & Wishes. I am quite pleased with my new boutique. The most important thing to me is that it loads LOTS faster than my other store. There are a few changes in comparison with my old store. As soon as you've placed an order you'll immediately receive a confirmation including all details and bank transfer information. The conditions for shipping have changed. From now on a standard fee will be charged, but domestic shipping (envelopes & flat mail boxes) is free of charge as of 20 euro. Unfortunately the shopping system doesn't support international orders, but of course international customers can order too. More information on international shipping and order process can be found here.

To celebrate the opening of Cards & Wishes I offer you a 15% discount on all items this weekend. You don't have to enter a special code to receive the discount. I already applied the discount for you. Happy shopping!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Noel

I hardly bought any Christmas paper collections this year because I still have lots of Christmas papers left from last year and the year before. I did buy some papers from the Snow Day Collection from Crate Paper about two months ago. I really like the non-traditional colors of this collection. I hadn't used any of the papers until last night. Doilies are quite popular to use on cards these days, so I couldn't resist using one too.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic White), Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: Crate Paper (Snow Day Collection) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Big & Bold Holiday Wishes, Snowflake Serenade, Peace Be Still) | Ink: Lavender Moon, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Versafine (Onyx Black) | Ribbon: my store | Twine: May Arts | Button: Papertrey Ink (White & Cream Mix) | Pearl, foam dots: Zva Creative | Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circles Small, Papertrey Ink Limitless Layers 1 3/4" Circle Collection, sewing machine | Other: doily

Thank you for stopping by.

Thinking of You

Today's card is for the boy next door and his parents. The boy has been in hospital for a few weeks and we found out last Wednesday that he is seriously ill. It's uncertain what the future holds for him. We truly hope that his doctors will be able to find the right treatment for him. The card is based on the card in this post from Betsy Veldman. I threw in some blue since it's for a boy.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Vintage Cream | Patterned paper: 2008 Bitty Dot Basics | Clear stamps: All About You, All About You Additions | Ink: Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Enchanted Evening, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Memento (Dandelion), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circles Small | Other: foamtape

Until next time...

Christmas Wishes to You and Yours

I mailed out a second Christmas card order yesterday. I was asked to make five cards preferably in the traditional red and green color combination. Today's card is my favorite of the five cards that I made. It's a perfect mix of the colors, papers, stamps and embellishments that I like a lot.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Vintage Cream, Ripe Avocado, Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: Distressed Dots | Clear stamps: Holly Jolly, Big & Bold Holiday Wishes | Ink: Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Ripe Avocado, Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Button: White & Cream Mix | Ribbon: Pure Poppy | Twine: May Arts | Pearl flourish, foam dots: Zva Creative (PEB03CA108, AD01CB101) | Tools: Mat Stack 4 Die, Eyelet Lace Border Die

I used a long white flourish (PEB03CA108) from Zva Creative on this card. The flourish has the perfect size to be used on a layout, but is too long for a 4 x 6" card, so I cut it in half and now it fits perfectly.

The girls are really excited as we'll be celebrating Sinterklaas this afternoon at my brother's place. Hopefully Sinterklaas will be able to deliver to presents now that the roof tops are covered with snow and slippery. {wink}

Have a wonderful weekend!

Holiday Blessings

My first Christmas cards order was delivered last Tuesday, and all cards were well received. V is a wonderful person to work with. She lets me know what images, sentiments and colors she likes - always keeping the recipient in mind - and leaves the design all up to me. Today's cards are the last ones of that custom order to share and the requirements for these cards that are meant for her aunties were a Christmas tree, neutral colors and glitter. I used two different color schemes, but sticked to the same design.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Rustic White, Scarlet Jewel, Aqua Mist, Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) |  Clear stamps: Tree Trimming Trio, Snowflake Serenade, Peace Be Still, Holiday Spirit Sentiments | Ink: Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Ripe Avocado, Vintage Cream, Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Buttons: Scarlet Jewel, Aqua Mist | Twine: May Arts | Tools: Christmas Tree Die | Other: foamtape, Ranger Stickles

Until next time.

Tis the Season

Yesterday we had snow. Yikes! It's only November and I'm not in the mood for snow yet. I hope we don't get as much snow this year as we did last year.

I'll be sharing some Christmas cards this week that are part of the custom order. The request for one of the cards was to use Stocking Prints. I always love to view the gallery at the Papertrey Ink forum to see what cards the DT made with a certain set. When I saw Betsy Veldman's card featuring the Stocking Prints set I decided to CASE her card. I am a huge fan of Betsy Veldman. I love her style. I don't have the branch that she used so I used another stamp instead.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Vintage Cream, Pure Poppy | Clear stamps: Beyond Basics Borders, Snowflake Serenade, Stocking Prints, Wreath for All Seasons | Ink: Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Pure Poppy, ColorBox (Antique Pewter), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Tools: Stocking Prints Die, Small Scalloped Border Die, sewing machine | Foam dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101)

The Zva Creative DT is having their monthly blog hop tomorrow, so be sure to check in here. Have a happy Sunday!

Wishing You Peace

This morning I went out to do some shopping for Sinterklaas. We'll celebrate it with my family and Eric's mom on December 4th. The girls don't really have a long wish list this year, but they both do have a few 'must haves' on their list and I managed to buy what they want so badly.

Today's card is another card that is part of a custom order. The requested color combo for this card was the traditional red and green, and the Peace sentiment from one of my Papertrey Ink stamp sets. Wishing you is not really stamped straight, but since it was the last thing I added to this card I decided to leave it this way. There is no way to fix it, and I didn't want to start all over again. It's handmade, and it can't always be perfect.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Vintage Cream, Pure Poppy | Patterned paper: Distressed Dots | Clear stamps: Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers, Snowflake Serenade | Ink: Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Ripe Avocado, Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Old Paper), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Crystals: Hotfix | Tools: Small Scalloped Border Die, sewing machine

Have a wonderful weekend!

Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop Challenge

It's been a while since I played along with Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop Challenge. It was only last night that I decided to play along, so it's a very last minute project. That seems to be my way of working. {wink} This month's challenge is to design a holiday tag using your favorite goodies. I was about to create a set of tags, but time was limited so I ended up with one tag. I am a huge fan of Papertrey Ink dies, so I used several of them for this tag. Inspired by a card from Betsy Veldman that I lifted the other day - I'll show that one later this week - I am into snowflakes at the moment. They are great to use for a background. Here's my tag for the November Blog Hop Challenge.....

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Vintage Cream, Pure Poppy | Clear stamps: 2010 Holiday Tags, Snowflake Serenade, Peace Be Still | Ink: Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, ColorBox (Smokey Blue, Antique Pewter) | Buttons: Blueberry Sky, White & Cream Mix | Ribbon: Blueberry Sky | Twine: May Arts | Glitter: Craft Glitter | Tools: Tag Sale 2 Die, Peace Be Still Collection, Limitless Layers 1 3/4" Circle Collection, Cuttlebug Ice Crystal | Other: foam tape

Thank you for stopping by.

Happy Anniversary

I called in sick yesterday as I was having a stomach flu. I am feeling a bit better today. Fortunately it's my day off so I can take it easy.

Last week I was asked by a friend to make a card for her best friend's 30th wedding anniversary. I went for grey with a touch of pink and added a gorgeous soft pink pearl flourish from Zva Creative.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Smokey Shadow, Sweet Blush, Rustic White | Patterned paper: 2009 Bitty Dot Basics | Clear stamps: Damask Designs, Fillable Frames #7, Outline Alphabet, Mega Mixed Messages | Ink: Sweet Blush, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Versafine (Onyx Black), ColorBox (Antique Pewter) | Button: White & Cream Mix | Ribbon: my store | Twine: May Arts | Pearl flourish, foam dots: Zva Creative (PE03CA111, AD01CB101) | Tools: Vintage Lace Border Die, Fillable Frames #7 Die

Have you already finished all your Christmas cards? I have to finish two custom card orders this week, and then I have a few Christmas cards to make that I can send to friends.

Have a nice day!

Exciting News!

I've got some exciting news to share with you today. About two weeks ago I received an e-mail from Emma from the French scrapbooking brand 4heures37 inviting me to join her design team. I came across 4heures37 for the first time about 4 months ago. I visited a blog of a French scrapbooker - don't remember whose blog it was - and really liked the designs from 4heures37. As far as I know the paper collections are not available in the Netherlands yet, but hopefully that will change soon. Last Friday I received a box with papers and other goodies from Emma and I couldn't wait to get started on a few cards. My main focus will be cards, but I may also show a layout every now and then.

The first card is my favorite of the three cards I made this weekend. For this card I used the 9, Allée des ateliers collection. 12 sheets per collection and all sheets are double sided so that means 24 (!) different designs. I always love to mix various designs on one card. I really have a hard time using only one or two patterned paper sheets. The doily used on the card is from Martha Stewart and is available at Paper & Pictures.

And a close-up...

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Straw) | Patterned paper: 4heures37 (9, Allée des ateliers) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Asian Fusion) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Button: Papertrey Ink (Simply Chartreuse) | Ribbon, twine: May Arts | Doily: Martha Stewart | Tools: Papertrey Ink Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" Circle Collection, EK Success Bracket Border Punch, sewing machine | Foam dots: Zva Creative (AD01CB101)

And another card with the 9, Allée des ateliers collection. I really love this collection. The papers on this card match really well with Papertrey Ink's Scarlet Jewel color. I always have a hard time using that color, but not this time.

Happy (7th) Birthday

Today our sweet niece Renee is celebrating her 7th birthday. As soon as we get back home from the girls' hockey game and training we will call her on Skype to congratulate her. I hope that my card made it in time for her birthday. It's always a bit hard to tell how long it takes a card to get to Australia.

Supplies: Cardstock: Action (White card base) | Patterned paper, element stickers: Echo Park Paper (A Walk in the Park) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Birthday Bash Sentiments, Fillable Frames #4, Outlines Alphabet) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Raspberry Fizz, Spring Moss), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Button: Papertrey Ink (White & Cream Mix) | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Fillable Frames #4 Die) | Other: foamtape

Merry Christmas Part II

Today I have another Christmas card to show you that is part of a custom card order. The initial request was to create a card in non-traditional Christmas colors and to use the Holly & Ivy stamp from the Holiday Button Bits stamp set, but these two criteria don't really go together since the leaves are supposed to be green and the berries red. Of course I could have stamped the Holly & Ivy in another color, but I talked to V. and we agreed to go for the traditional red and green color combo and add some sparkling glitter.

Last Friday I went to the Kreadoe craft fair with my mom and one of her friends where I bought glitter in various colors at Craft Glitter. I also got their Punch and Stick double sided adhesive sheets. You just cut or punch a shape or strip - like I did on this card - and sprinkle it with glitter.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Rustic White, Pure Poppy, Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: Distressed Dots | Clear stamps: Holiday Button Bits, Mixed Messages | Ink: Ripe Avocado, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Buttons: Pure Poppy, White & Cream Mix | Ribbon: Pure Poppy | Twine: May Arts | Tools: Small Scalloped Border Die, sewing machine | Glitter, adhesive sheets: Craft Glitter | Other: tag

Have a good weekend!

Merry Christmas

Eric - with a little help from the girls - has been designing and creating our Christmas cards this year, so that saves me a lot of time. Time that I can spend on making custom cards orders and today's card is one of them. This card is inspired by the first card in this post by Nichole Heady. I just loved the design and color combo when I first saw that card. Nichole is amazing, and I am a huge fan of her work and stamp designs.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Pure Poppy, Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Clear stamps: Polka Dot Basics, Star Prints, Fillable Frames #9, Tiny Treats: Christmas, Holiday Button Bits | Ink: Fresh Snow, Pure Poppy, Versafine (Onyx Black) | | Ribbon: Pure Poppy | Twine: May Arts, my store | Tools: Fillable Frames #9 Die, Copic Marker Red | Other: foamtape

I've been busy working on a new webstore as my current webstore is way too slow and there isn't much I can do about the slowness. So I now have a new one that I've been busy filling with all my products. Hopefully I'll be able to open the store somewhere next week.

Have a wonderful day, and thank you for stopping by.

A Gift Bag, and a 10% Discount Offer

I've been working on my assignment for Cards Only and haven't had time to create anything new, so I'll leave you with a gift bag that I made about two weeks ago. For some reason I haven't posted it on my blog yet. I kept this one quite simple. You can create this bag in only a few minutes. I'll be making Christmas treat bags for the girls' teachers this year, and it's very likely that I'll use this Favor It bag.

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Pure Poppy | Patterned paper: Christmas Prints | Clear stamps: 2010 Holiday Tags | Ink: Ripe Avocado, Versafine (Onyx Black) | Tools: Favor It Box 2, Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" Circle Collection, EK Success 1 3/4" Circle punch, Copic Marker Red | Other: foamtape

I'll be celebrating my birthday tomorrow, and thought it would be nice to treat you on a 10% discount on all items in my shop this weekend. And if your order ends with an '0' you'll get an additional 5% discount. Here are the deets:

  • Use the discount code BIRTHDAY in the Comment field

  • The discount is valid on November 13 - 14, 2010

  • The discount does not apply to shipping cost and previous orders

Happy Birthday

This week's CR84FN3 challenge at Mona Pendleton's blog is a great one. I really like the pink and green color combo.

The flowers in the picture inspired me to use a flower on my card, so I inked up the largest flower of my Year of Flowers: Violets stamp set. Here's my take on the challenge....

Supplies: All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless noted otherwise Cardstock: Spring Moss, Sweet Blush, Rustic White | Patterned paper: 2008 Bitty Dot Basics, 2009 Bitty Dot Basics | Clear stamps: Background Basics: Text Style II, A Little Argyle, Year of Flowers: Violets, Communique Curves Sentiments | Ink: Sweet Blush, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo, Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Pearl, foam dots: Zva Creative | Wrinkle ribbon: Rose Tea @ my store | Tools: Victorian Lace Border Die, Tag Sale 2 Die, sewing machine

Birthday Wishes

A few days before we left for London I mailed out a custom card order. The day after we got back I found a mail from J in my inbox telling me that that she hadn't received the cards. Usually it takes only one or two days to have post delivered and now it was more than a week, so I was afraid the envelope with 7 cards got lost in the mail. My return address was on the envelope, but until today none of us has received the envelope, so I have to replace all cards. Of course I don't mind making new cards, but it's a pity that I can't trust our national postal service. Here's one of the new birthday cards that I made.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop, Fly a Kite) | Clear stamps: Waltzingmous Stamps (Fancy Phrases) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Wrinkle ribbon: my store |  Tools: Papertrey Ink Victorian Lace Border, sewing machine

I got several requests about my wrinkle ribbon lately. The last time all ribbon sold out pretty quickly. I've added 13 colors to my store this morning.

You can find all wrinkle ribbon here. I still haven't been able to do something about the slowness of my store, so again I apologize for it. If any problems occur during the order process please e-mail me.

Have a Happy Sunday!

Happy Holidays

Mona Pendleton has started a color challenge. If you aren't familiar with Mona's work you should really check out her blog Cupcake's Creations. I just love her style and eye for detail. I missed the first color challenge, but I'm just in time for the second challenge. I lost my mojo a bit and hardly created anything this week, but the mojo's getting back. A good challenge always helps me to get in the mood again. Here's this week's challenge CR84FN2.....

I really like this week's photos and colors. It's the photo on the left that inspired me to use my Vintage Ornaments stamps and dies.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Kraft) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Peace Be Still, Vintage Ornaments, Background Basics: Christmas, Signature Christmas) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Smokey Shadow, Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Twine: May Arts | Pearls, foam dots: Zva Creative | Buttons: Papertrey Ink (Ocean Tides) | Tools: Vintage Ornaments Die Collection, sewing machine

Have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Winter

Today I have a winter themed card to share with you. Winter is my least favorite season. I am not too fond of snow, and I think that January and February are the most boring months of the year. However, the cold days are perfect to stay inside and do crafts. The felt skates on this card are some of the new felt embellishments that I added to my store. The skates are available in ecru, soft pink and light turquoise.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Sawdust) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Peace Be Still, On Ice) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Smokey Shadow, Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo), Versafine (Onyx Black) | Felt embellishments: Schaatsen Ecru | Pearl: Zva Creative | Ribbon: Crinkle Ribbon Vintage Pink | Tools: sewing machine, We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile | Eyelet: We R Memory Keepers

I've also added felt winter embellishments. The sets contain snowflakes and a dove. You can find all felt embellishments here.

Well, that's all for today. I am about to leave for lunch with a friend in Amsterdam. Have a nice day!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to all my American friends, and everyone else who celebrates Halloween today. When I see all the cute Halloween treats projects and cards on the internet I regret that we don't have Halloween over here. I do make one or two Halloween cards each year, but I don't make any treat bags. Here's another Halloween card I made the other day. I digged into my stash to find the scraps of the Salem collection by Scenic Route that I knew I still had.....somewhere.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper (Raven) | Patterned paper: Scenic Route (Salem) | Button: Autumn Leaves | Crystal flourish: Zva Creative (CR02CA103) | Tag: my store (#3 Manila Tag) | Ink: Ranger Distress Ink (Black Root) | Tools: sewing machine | Other: lace, floss, ribbon

I used a #3 Manila Tag on my card. You can use the tags either blank or embellish them with patterned paper, stamps, buttons or anything else you like. The other Manila Tags can be found in my store here. The 10% discount offer on all Manila Tags ends at Midnight CET today. No need to fill in a special discount code. The discount will be deducted from your order total. The 10% discount applies to the Manila Tags sets only.

I'll be back with another card tomorrow. Have a Happy Sunday!
